What makes the trio Clarkson May Hammond a really great presenters of Top Gear, is not how you can drive while talking, drag the cars as fast as possible, etc. It's how they somehow managed to make the viewers who don't actually care about cars (someone like me) become the fans of the show. And they did it with a lot of help from Andy Wilman (who dropped the show and moved to The Grand Tour along with the trio) which is actually the brain behind Top Gear. I honestly can't see how they managed to hold things on Top Gears now that they've gone.

First, if you look closely at the takes on Chris de owl, the only drives straight. He cannot really drive a car like the magnificent 3. Second, they were not able to hold it together since Top Gear is becoming worse very episode... I guess this is when an honorable discharge should take place,. Before BBC becomes a legendary tale in TVs history. GOD they are baaaad!

When I took a look at the new Top Gear, I noticed that, while the new presenters weren't all as bad as people made them out to be, the whole show was considerably less well directed. I think that made just as much difference in the quality of the show as the change of hosts.

I'd like to add that the trio has almost always had a strangely beautiful relationship with one another. Always joking about and/or insulting each other individually as well as 2-on-1. And that relationship was the "x-factor", the "zing" (as Jeremy himself would put it) that made Top Gear work and has made The Grand Tour work. Also, I am glad that you mentioned Andy Wilman, because I too think that he is often the 'hero' people forget about in such a discussion. He is pivotal to the success of both programs with the trio and I wish that he stays with them till the end of The Grand Tour.

Fred Power Jesus Christ, I remember the days when movies actually became worse quality wise the more you watched them. So you could not even figure out if the old man in that Godzilla costume was destroying a miniature version of Japan or if it was in fact your friend Steve who one day thought it would be funny to dress up as Godzilla and get wasted in your local McDonald's. And of course you couldn't even tell by looking at the label on the tape since it tells you that it used to be a wedding tape. To keep things short: Enjoy what you have and stop being so spoiled.

i was 16 years old, worked for my father at a dealership. i was supposed to drive to NYC to trade a car (called a dealer swap back then might be called the same now). the BMW came off the car carrier with less than 10 miles on it. I went to put my paperwork in the glove box...but the problem was when i opened the glove box, it fell on the floor. Since then i rightfully have a bad view on BMW cars.
