Could You Do This? | RIOT TRAINING | British Army
In this video I take you through the riot training that my Battalion has been doing. Public Order training requires discipline, teamwork and controlled aggression in order to be successful and containing a violent crowd.
There is a genuine possibility of being hurt and this is why public order (riot) training allows us to push the troops to the limit with real consequences for their actions.
I show you two scenarios:
- Tactical withdrawal
- Dealing with a barricade
Please note, the Exercise Conducting Officer and his safety team are qualified Public Order instructors and are trained in safely delivering this training package.

Been there done that Belfast mid '70s. Shield line parts, tear gas and baton rounds are fired, snatch squad deploys and grabs the ringleaders and brings back to the Humber Pig, shield line retires, water cannon gives the mob a good shower, crowd disperses , then it's back to base for a nice cup of tea

Bro I took part in this way back in like 2005 with the Scots guards. Brilliant day back then. I remember they used wooden blocks stored in wheely bins. We would soak them in puddles to make them do more damage. Dance music blasting on speakers. Funny story they gave us maccy ds after it and everyone who accepted got beasted for the rest of the day 😂

What would you say is the main difference between army riot training and police riot training? I know in police there's 3 levels of riot training but don't know if that's the same in the army

When I was in the army we don’t fuck about like the police. Baton guns, CS gas and baton charges. We also used armoured vehicles to clear the road. You get close you get hit. The police are very passive preferring kettling. Fucking boring
@arjunbadeshia2893
@arjunbadeshia2893 2 жыл бұрын
@@zapbrannigan9770 how come the police weren't deployed during the 2011 riots? It seemed like the police who were underfunded had to combat the riots all by themselves. Also I'm pretty sure it would cause more riots if the police went about hitting everyone on the streets then there would be a problem but we can expect it from the army as that is what they're known for? Being tough and getting on with it.

Have things changed that much.... Not a single baton gunner in sight or utilisation of a vehicle which is always available. Weak men on the shields. Copehill down is always the best for public order. Or even lydd

Shocking public order drills. Soldiers getting their shields ripped off them by the rioters, soldiers being dragged along the ground by the rioters, too big of gaps when bounding forward and not bounding forward in a straight line. If this was Northern Ireland when i was doing my public order validation with 3RIR we wud have failed easily. The PSNI are the best in the world at public order

I have to agree man embarrassing.. lack of leadership.. and control... if there was that many rioters I would withdrawal way out numbered..... disperse with chemical agent top cop / baton

How do you know this was their validation? It could be the first or second day of training. So obviously it would be sloppy if their still learning.
