Arrogant is not a description I would apply here. The word that comes to mind is sincere.

I've always thought your videos were interesting and thought provoking. I've been photographing for a considerable number of years but happily admit I wouldn't have the courage to do what you do here. For sure, negative comments would take their toll, no doubt just one such comment can mentally obliterate the dozens of highly positive ones. I'm not a confident public speaker so talking to a camera would be something I'd be very uncomfortable doing. Keep up the great work 👍

For whatever reason your channel came into my timeline, and I am grateful to the algorithm. I like and appreciate how you approach your experiences with photography, particularly the exposure triangle explanation. Thank you!

1st Your videos are truly refreshing, informative, and, enlightening. 2nd I'd be interested in knowing who the other photographer is that you watched about Davinci. As a suggestion for another video. A video about the photographers you admire, Masters and contemporaries, and what you get from them.

i've been thinking about this a lot recently, actually. reflecting and the many ways one can do it is something i'm passionate about learning more about. something to note about the process when it comes to analog technology like i prefer to use is that the delay of shooting to tape, letting the tape accumulate more footage, then cutting the video together on analog hardware gives me a deeper dive with a longer time simmering, thinking about what I thought what I said was like, then being faced what what it was ACTUALLY like. That gives me more to think about in improving what I'm looking to do with all this. I'm also doing voice training as part of my gender transition and a similar approach using a microcassette memo recorder is working along that road laid out by video tape. I like to take my time, and I'm very pleased with the results.

Absolutely. I think the delayed gratification of tape is useful, too, as long as it doesn't delay creating the footage! I don't often hear people talk about tape and cassettes. Let me know how it goes!

I recently spent several days creating a series of videos where I went "public", but after a few days, I ditched it all for exactly the reasons you state. Unease. Embarrassment. And so on. I am going to rethink my approach and start from zero...someday. Your comments are all spot on. Polished delivery is key I think. And practising that for YT can only make you better in real in-person scenarios.
@FilNenna9 ай бұрын
I think it's worth getting it out there because I don't think you can make a good video until you've got the rough first ones published. The first ones are the hardest, and almost no one will watch them anyway. I'll subscribe!

@@FilNenna bless you sir. Good advice. I want to get off on a good start as best I can - even video editing stuff is not as easy as we would assume is it. So watch this space as they say

Wow, stunned by those bad comments. Consider your channel as one of the best out there, and absolutely love the thoughtful way of speaking of yours. Keep it rolling, I think you're doing way better than only good - absolutely refreshing and excellent knowledge shared. Thanks for every minute of your videos !

Negative feedback on social media … is it even helpful? If Tony Robbins called your videos lacking because of XYZ that is INCREDIBLY helpful. If someone on KZbin that doesn’t even have a real name calls your video lacking how does that help you? On the flip side how does my admiration for your videos help you? It doesn’t really. I’m just some cameraist that’s trying to take photos. I’ve been doing it for 45 years and I am slowly improving. OTOH, I like your videos and your content. Unlike me you are improving quite quickly.

Your videos bring up many interesting aspects that I hadn't paid attention to beforehand (like ISO400, hobby/excuse etc.). Can I make one comment regarding your style of presentation, Fil? [certainly not meant to hurt, insult etc. you.] I notice that while you are speaking/presenting contents your (upper) body moves from left to right and back; my association with this is that you must feel a certain shyness.

hahah... many youtubers chop their videos using a and b reels... so don't worry too much...

Thanks! I think the ability to talk cohesively in one take would be cool, though. And would make post production easier!
