You more than made up for it on your great pyrex deal from Tote Man II. A friend of mine had an estate sale and I helped him some. I'll never forget this one house ever because first a woman paid 25 cents for a book and she stood there flipping through it when 7 $100 bills fell out! She screamed and guess who was near her? A family member. Yes she did the right thing in giving her the $ but money was hidden everywhere in that house! My friend found hundreds of dollars in the back of a painting. You just never know!
@PaperandMoose5 ай бұрын
Wow!! I have found some money at cleanouts, but usually just the dollar or two in a drawer or the jar of change on the back of a shelf. I do hear to always check behind paintings, people hide money in so many places!
@SherryHill-k5y5 ай бұрын
@@PaperandMoose Wow I know! She paid 25 cents and if she'd left the sale, the $700 would have been hers. You're right as $ was behind paintings, etc. One of the most incredible things ever at an estate sale was that a friend of mine bought a huge vase. Wasn't clean inside. When she got home and started washing it, 3 loose diamonds fell out! She had a ring made with them that was a wow! Never know1🙂

Tons of relics from the past, and some pretty nice finds as well ! The dead bat could have been a bargain, some folks say that they are used by exorcists...😉 10:25 Nice to see some German dime books, probably around 1900. We call them "Heimatromane", written by Ludwig Ganghofer and a lot of other authors. Awesome to watch you being honest, so here´s my little reward: if you like to translate your recent letters from Germany with this tricky writing, take a look at "Suetterlin Alphabet" first, this might help you out. You´re very welcome, Renée ! 😀 Greets from GER, U. P.S. And I forgot to mention that you also got E-mail. 😊

Hey Renee...Since you bought that great sock toy book, I think you should make a "Taco Stacks" sock toy, and maybe a "Salsa" one too. wow..... what a bargain...only 6 bucks for a dead bat!!!! Here's a joke about honesty, in honor of yours. Jim promised his wife that he would lose 20 pounds, but after 3 days of working out, he gave it up. Not wanting to lie to his wife, he decided to no longer refer to the bathroom as "the john". Instead he will call it "the Jim". That way, he can tell his wife in all honesty, that he goes to the Jim everyday! 🤣

‘Invasion Of The Tote Snatchers’ kicks off an early one. Good stuff right from the off - though $6 for a dead bat was outrageous. Made a beeline for the serial killer's teeth through a jumble of various knick-knacks and ephemera. Was that a pic of a renowned Japanese painter glimpsed from the lid of a cardboard box about to snap shut? No matter. What's passed is past. The pyrex was cool, the mermaid too. Vintage paper and Instant Karma from Anne and George rounds off a good morning. Very nice…….

I loved the sock toys book. I have only seen the monkey and I think I might have seen the elephant. They are so adorable. I grew up in the 50’s and our parents never worried about buttons coming off toys or anything that is considered dangerous for kids. We made it as did our 60’s children. I recently bought a purse at a garage sale. I found $40 in the little keychain and pictures of her grandkids. It also contained a brass coin that means our special number of years in a group of people living a great life. Thank goodness the sale wasn’t over and I followed the signs and gave it all back to her. She said I was very nice and I looked at her and said we both do this because we want to live and dishonesty is not part of our world. I got more from that exchange than money can buy. You are a beautiful woman inside and out. Love your videos

Score on the Pyrex - do you feel OK mailing (eBay) or is that for selling at the FM (with an added "handling charge."😁? Good on you giving the money back - I was sure you would. I'm amazed at how much antique German language material you find - but I guess Germans settled the area? I couldn't really think of a good name for your secondary tote guy - best I could do was "Tote-In-Common" (Tutankhamun) - or maybe just Tut for short. "The Tote Man & Tut." Ugh, I think my Muse has taken the day off. I may have my mentioned but my cousin buys houses, rehabs them and keeps them as rental property. He found $600 in one and was so excited he took it right to the banks & deposited it. Later he learned they were silver certificates, I think, worth more than face value. The country singer & performer "String Bean" (Hee Haw, member the Grand Ole' Opry) distrusted banks & was thought to keep a lot of cash in the modest home he shared with his wife near Nashville. Tragically, thieves murdered them in a robbery in the early 70s. I read that a later renovation of the home turned up a lot of cash in holes in the back of a mantel, but that insect and other things had mostly turned it to power. And on that uplifting note, I hope these things turn into good profit for you, and that you have a terrific Wednesday! It's clear here but hot - had to shorten the dog's walks - not for me but for him (little dogs overheat faster, I guess).🌭

Looks like a good flea market I used to buy sock monkeys for my niece who collected them, one Christmas I got her one as big as she was. She just graduated college last week, don’t think she is still into sock monkeys I think you missed a WWII navy hammock My girlfriend is into taxidermy and wet specimens. I bought her a mounted bat off eBay , wasn’t prepared to well and its head fell off. I replaced it with a barbie doll head which I think improves it . I found a nice deep frame for it and hung it in living room by the Halloween tree Used to see lots of these preserved bats, all coming from overseas, some pretty pricey, think they might have cracked down on importation now
