Hey man, hope you're doing fantastic. I advocate for getting therapy, sometimes we need someone to talk to and to vent out what you're struggling with and combating on the inside. Nothing emasculating about that, we're human beings. It becomes a problem when you can't help yourself, and you don't try, because you definitely can. Therapy is not a cure, but it helps shed some light and receive closure. Now medication, that's a different story, I try to stay away from that. Speaking from experience my guy. When I was at a all time low, I was offered medication, but I turned it down. Instead, I rigorously practiced bioenergetics, wim hof breathing meditations, cold showers, gym, spending a lot of time in nature, MMA, and most importantly my diet etc.. I had a lot of tools in my arsenal and medication was not one. But hey man, if you're adamant on taking medication, and want to give it a shot, go for it. Just be cautious. All the best. Edit: Take what works man, I know you're hip is not in a good condition. So I understand your struggle.

I appreciate You looking out for Me in terms of the medication stuff and trust Me I am well aware that it can do more harm than good so If I ever did get on any I would make sure it's genuinely needed and not stay on it forever. It would feel a lot better to work through it all on My own without having meds as a crutch and I get that. Congratulations though on applying so many different things in the place of medication that takes a strong mind and I am trying to cultivate more strength within myself so that maybe I could do something similar in the future. I don't want to be dependent on drugs to succeed in life I never have but I understand that some people are in such dire situations it's really the only thing they can offer. If I can get My body into better shape and start being more active that would be the best solution for Me 100%

Thanks, I'm really looking forward to getting an outside perspective on what's going on and hopefully they can point Me in the right path to recovery. Medication can be life changing for people and I know that so if I'm prescribed I will listen to the doctor.

I’m not so optimistic about therapy, although it may help you. You seem like someone who may benefit from getting your feelings validated. Did you notice most of the people telling you how great this is are women? There’s a reason for that. But honestly, I hope it works out for you.

I've never tried it thoroughly so I will let everyone know if it helps Me or not, I'm optimistic about it as I don't really have anyone I trust to talk about really personal stuff anyways so it will probably provide some level of validation hopefully. Not sure though why it matters if mostly women are encouraging it but anyway do You have firsthand experience with therapy and stuff?

@@InfinitusYT Yes. I found myself talking to a brick wall. Like I said, it may work fine for you. But the reason it matters that they’re women is that therapy is primarily designed for women. For example, I and many other men (not all obviously) have real problems that require action to solve. Therapy is primarily a place to get your feelings validated. That’s why I said it’s designed primarily for women. Obviously, men need their feelings validated too. But many of us need literal solutions to our problems. There’s an action that needs to be completed. Understanding that xyz comes from a this or that doesn’t help me solve my problem. A therapist that specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy would directly challenge the thought patterns that are unhelpful to you and then work on changing any self defeating behaviors would probably be your best for you. As to why it’s important that most of the people rooting for this in the comment feed are women, that just shows who therapy is generally designed to help. I’ve seen many therapists, both male and female, over the years. Like I said, it may work for you. I’m just cautioning you, because it may not. The first session is usually just getting information from you.

@@andrewwabik5125 I appreciate the long winded response and I appreciate your more extensive experience of therapy so far and a lot of what You say does make sense in the fact that men and women do not always suffer in the same ways as women I feel are much more in tune with their emotional side and willing to express that whereas men can be seen to bottle there emotions and separate themselves and distinguish themselves from others in a more isolating way and so it does make sense that women might benefit more from certain types of therapy than the ones most men would benefit from. And I agree it's not that I don't know what's wrong and the actions necessary to fix it, it's just actually taking that action and being consistent with it to eventually lead to a changed life that's the hard part probably due in part by my upbringing and having been diagnosed as an adult with ADHD. It's quite possible medications would help Me more at this point than just a session a week with someone I don't know but I will keep an open mind for the time being and plus it's not coming out of My pocket I appreciate My Mom for trying to do something for Me whether it ends up being a catalyst or not I guess
