Not sure why I'm putting this here and not on one of your earlier podcasts, maybe because I'm listening to it on headphones and it's driving me mad. I am currently studying on my Level 2 Counselling course and find your podcast incredibly useful and informative and will continue to find your podcast/video on KZbin and use them as a valuable part of my education. Now...in a previous life, I worked in the TV and Film industry as a Cameraman, Editor and Director. I've been around microphones for my entire working life and...Ken, PLEASE buy yourself a Popshield. It looks like you are in a space where you have some sort of sound deadening background, which means that your very mellow voice is much deader than Rory's brighter, slightly more echoey voice due to his more reflective and 'brighter' background. Kudos! However, because you don't have a Popshield like Rory, your sibilants and plosive sounds like S, P, B and F are almost painful on my headphones, they're so bright.(Not a good thing when it comes to sound!) Rory, therefore, sounds better and less difficult to listen to. Also, and I realise this may seem picky, but unless your house is particularly windy, there's no practical need to have a foam windshield on your Mic...like wearing a waterproof hat/coat indoors...unless it's raining, pointless and maybe a bit of a hinderance to people being able to enjoy your excellent content. Hope this is useful and not seen as me being a pedant?
