hey, Blututh, I'm thinking (creating) a custom expansion, it would be "invasion of hyjal" based on the story of Warcraft III. I didn't make any cards but I already thought about some and the key word. I would like some tips if you can, since you make very good custom expasions 😉

@@BlututhHS oh, i was talking about some general tips for sure, but i was thinking about some especific things like ideas about how to get the arts for the cards (i see you saying that was in discord of custom hearthstone but, is easy this way? ) and about the ideas for keywords and stuff, you usualy discuss these ideas?

@@jacaredesertor3043 For my keywords I usually share them on Reddit for feedback. Retaliate for example was simplified slightly after seeing people's responses. As for the arts, just type "ctrl + F" in the art-gallery on Discord and then type in whatever you wanna search for. People are usually very good with giving the artworks related search cues. If that doesn't work, Google might have some options, but a lot of it is AI art these days. For some general tips I would just say this: A good idea is following the way Blizzard structures their expansions, unless you have a really good reason for diverging. A mistake I often see people making when creating their own expansions is overusing their custom keywords. In real expansions there's usually only 1 card for each class with the expansion's keyword; sometimes a class legendary might also feature the keyword in addition to that 1 other card, but never more than 1 non-legendary. In Neutral you can add more cards with the keyword, there's really no rules for the number there. Also try adding a new mechanic with each expansion. It can be a small thing like a card that switches form each turn or something more exciting like Excavate, but just something that gives some (or all) of the classes a common theme.

How do you get the art in your videos?

Most of it I find online. The Custom Hearthstone Discord server has a section for art that I usually go to before anything else, but sometimes I need to edit the artworks a bit to fit my needs (like with all the Echo minions in this video).

@@shroudncover9515 The art on the discord server is rarely shared by the creators themselves, other people have found them elsewhere online and shared them there; ready for you to download. In the videos where the artworks are more in focus I'll search for the creators and credit them (such as my Cinematic Trailers), but otherwise I don't ask permission. My approach may not be the correct one, but I figure since these artists decided to share their artworks online, there's nothing wrong with using them.
