Counter Guardians are very unique for being Servants, since unlike other Servants. They're usually aren't true Heroic Spirits. They're mostly just nobodies. But nobodies who are well equipped enough, to handle situations that the Counter Force itself deems it. And that is very charming to me Nobodies. People who were never worshipped and known by anyone else. And yet, they managed to be recognized by a pair of Supernatural entities, to be keepers of balance and order

That's a very real way to look at it. But also makes you wonder what that 'nobody' has to do to get chosen as one. Most importantly, why would anyone agree to it? Think people like normal humans like Rin or Sakura. Heck, even Shinji as a CG! Although at the same time, I wouldn't say just nobodies either. Cause the Okita kinda put a hole in that. Correct me if I'm wrong. She was already a Servant/Heroic Spirit in the sister. Yet the Counter Force has another Okita at the ready? Not that I don't like Okita Atler cause her Design a 12/10 but why tho? Unrelated note here: Sorry but I can't be the only one who as soon as see the word Nobodies, can't help but think about Kingdom Hearts. I think I play too many KH games.

They don't always have to be nobodies. It is only really individuals who are capable enough to handle a problem, that is all. So because of that. The Counter Force is no stranger for recruiting well known/famous individuals to their ranks. but also people who weren't worshipped as much

@@sleepylmguy9968 Well Okita is a special case since her mother made the contract with Alaya because she thought it was the Buddha and in return for saving Okita’s life as a newborn Okita would serve the Counter Force. This would end up creating Okita Alter because Okita was able to become recognized enough to be recorded as a proper Heroic Sprit. Okita Alter is just a duplicate the Counter Force made because the regular Okita became a proper Heroic Spirit so she the original couldn’t serve the Counter Force so the Counter Force just created another Okita.

Ryoma might have been boasted by Alaya in some point in his life, so being famous really doesn't matter to Alaya. Alaya also doesn't get his CG in one universe but in all multiverses in Nasuverse so you can never be surprise, you could see any Heroic Spirit as CG except those close to the gods(high divinity)

there is plenty in lore , the problem is that Nasu do not make them due to CGs been true OCs most of times. Ignoring Ryoma , all the others are full OC parallel version of already existing characters , because if not , you would had a Counter-Guardian in which you wouldn't be actually invested and that would end up as just gary stus. Imagine if you had some entirely new face/ new servant with a whole cyberpunk motiff showing up and defeating some hype character like Karna Alter or whatever, because it's a Counter-Guardian from 2532 AD with a bunch of future shenanigans...it wouldn't be really fun , right? it would be just a total random deus ex machina because no one in the plot had the capacity to defeat some Karna Alter. The only way to solve such OC is if you explain the whole background of 2532 AD to make you emotionally invested , that is why the quicker version is just using a CG version of other Nasuverse characters or a CG that are more of unsonged heroes of the past.

Still waiting for the Wrought Iron Hero spinoff... I'd take a future season of El Melloi Case Files as Waver still needs to help Rin destroy the Fuyuki ritual in every timeline and I would also take him meeting Shirou in the Middle East either already having made a pact or have him make it during the course of the season. I suppose this would mean Case Files takes place during EMIYA's route but they can also just wink and say this season or version of events happened only in EMIYA's route and the other seasons happened in every timeline. Or you could have Shirou become a Guardian as a post credits treat. Or you could have UBW Shirou not become one to demonstrate how this route was different.

@Sean Nosdo yeah, and I also just found out that Case Files takes place in a separate route from pretty much every other. I also meant the Final Mages Fuyuki war thing as separate from Waver meeting Shirou. I still think we can get something with Shirou in the middle east if they want to. In the Mages War probably not but we do know that will be illustrated. He will probably just get passing mention by Rin or some other characters or something. Still I can hope.

Could you imagine if the reason emiya is always seen along side nero and tamamo is because as a counter guardian he was at the same place as both of them before their deaths because they were seen as threats to be eliminated, we see him at the burning of rome, and in tamamos back story in extra you can see arrows around her emplying archers were shooting at her as she was running away after getting her cover blone, we also know she can be seen as a threat close to a beast and nero has connections to mother harlot the beast of 666 Just food for thought as we have seen beasts 1 through 4, and the alien god has been labeled as beast 7, with beast 3 and 6 coming in pairs, beast 6 could be nero and tamamo or more specifically, the beast of mother harlot and the 9 tailed fox as beast 6R/L respectively

At first, I thought Counter Guardians were anti-servant spirits, meaning they can fight actual servants head-on. And I also thought that all Counter Guardians have the special ability to lower nearby servants' parameters without anyone noticing, something like a passive debuffing skill that works on all servants except fellow Counter Guardians. And I always liked that concept, an anti-servant spirit that hunts down rogue servants and carrying out the Will of Humanity.

i would also like to see how Shirou became Emiya. i would also like to see the other Shirou routes that got scrapped. mainly because every time shirou ends up with someone else they change something about him. Shirou is like a blank canvas. or like the anime so aptly stated he has a heart of glass. reflecting the world around him. o think the closest thing we ever got to seeing shirou almost become emiya i beilve had to do with ciels route, because if i remember correctly it was hinted at that she was the one to have given him his iconic Shourd of Martin. either way theyd be fun to see.

EMIYA is one of my favorite characters in all of fiction. I love everything about his concept, his misguided ideals, and the tragedy of where they got him. As well as how his interactions with his past self sort of "saved" him in a way, even though being actually saved was never possible for him. I spent about a month after the end of UBW reading EMIYA centered fanfiction and consuming anything else I could from Fate and such. I would absolutely watch a show featuring the counter guardians.

An interesting part of how the counter guardian works is that even the will of the planet (which doesn't work togheter with the will of humanity) can act in case of being threatened which are, just like Alaya, two ways: Specific creatures that can deal with dangers such as outsider gods or humans (like True ancetors and Arcueid herself if she reaches the apex of power and becoming the Ultimate One of the earth) The beast IV to deal with humanity if they reach a point of serious danger themselves (as the primate murderer is supposedly born to understand and then perfectly kill any human) These can easly backfire btw

This was very much needed for me cuz I always wondered what the fuck a Counter Guardian was. Also had no idea that there were others besides Emiya. Though I gotta be honest, not sure how I feel about that being a thing in Fate universe. I liked it more when I thought that only actual humans had to deal with their problems, and thats what made the relevant figures strong enough to later be summoned as servants to fight in the grail war.

But that was never the case. The original VN has Emiya talking about the role of Counter Guardians and why they exist, humans never dealt with their problems, they caused them. That's pretty much why he started to hate humans, because they made him their janitor (and this applies to other CG's).

The story of Counter Guardian EMIYA (Shirou, it seems to be a family thing) would be RATHER sad. Illya's death, him leaving Fuyuki, with Sakura falling into despair very slowly, Taiga trying to go on with her life and trying to be chearful whenever he is back, but slowly being wore down, seeing another Kiritsugu. Rin tagging along for a while, but in the end separating from him. Until Shirou is completely alone. And the final arc, where Shirou heads for his death. It will be tragic, because we know that DOES NOT break him. What breaks him will be left out, the time he served the Counter Force, slowly making him understand that he is only a deluded killer.

Actually these missiles are really cheap and they lobbed a thousand at Israel and due to the geography they don't actually need any kind of sophisticated guidance system to hit something in Israel. That's where the Iron dome comes in which is smart enough to differentiate and target the rockets that will hit critical & populous areas and ignore the ones that'll land at something not worthwhile.

the thing is that the counter force isn't sending counter guardians to stop a threat before it happens, it only sends counter guardians when the threat has already happened and to stop it. Making the guardians stop it by basically nuking everything.

I know that Saber (F/SN) is basically a candidate that's mid-contract and it gets annuled when she abandons the quest for the Grail, but that's just the one we know; are there parallel versions which did succeed and are now Counter Guardians? Would explain the whole thing of the "Holy Sword Wielder" who slew Sefar; since CG's are outside of the timeline, a Counter Guardian Artoria could have pulled it off.

Idk what type of system was used in this incident, but for example, M270 MLRS could launch a total of 12 unguided rockets in quick succession. In other words, you'd need only 84 of them, if you wanted to fire off 1000 missiles in one volley. It's really quite impressive and could level a decent size area, but in the end, it's only 84 vehicles. Not really much compared to artillery concentrations of WW1.

If i remember correctly, Okita Alter has a dialogue line where she calls EMIYA a senpai. So does this mean that it is possible for EMIYA to be the first counter guardian? Or that there is a low key timeframe for counter guardians to become counter guardians?

I mean the real life situation is awful, but I don't think it's Counter Guardian material. These guys are summoned when there is a threat to mankind's survival, not just any conflict. It just isn't that great a scale from a "humanity as a whole" perspective.

Yup Guardians are literally the last resort to ALOT Of Shit that isn't Beast Related (Granted it is confirmed it takes 7 or so Guardians to handle Primate Murder who in Tsukihime timelines is Fou who didn't gain a love for humanity) Can bet your ass if Alaya wasn't stuck unable to do shit during the Incineration of Humanity Guardians would be deployed willy nilly....then theres the whole theory that we the Player Master (Ritsuka) are likely unwilling/unknowningly helping the Counter Force with the whole Lostbelt shitz

If I am correct, and do double check on this info for it maybe a mistranslation. The Prisma Ilya series has a counter guardian specificaly deployed at the Miyu-verse's Pandora's box problem. She is an airheaded tank though similar to Okita Alter.
