@@tehjamerz no, I know, I meant that the spray control was more deadly accurate in 1.6. If you controlled it correctly it would be essentially all in the 5 range of a bullseye, even at longer ranges. I thought it was fun, but it made multikills a little too easy. If the spray control was kept as tight in csgo and cs2 then it would probably be chaos.

I used all of these bugs, and i can say that these bugs added so much to the game that these should never be fixed. Double duck (we call it Tixo in hungary) is one of my favourite thing in the game, i built my movement around it, and i was literally unbeatable:D. We just love Cs1.6 the way it is. Also, its the most moddable game, if you can use the pawn script language, basically you could do more mods that you can possibly imagine. GOAT game. On the hungarian paintball servers, we took advantage of the high fps, we somehow managed to fix the slow bug with a console command or a plugin (idk), and added a bunnyhopp plugin with 4 jumps, that was the greatest shit i've ever experienced as a kid

FPS effects movement mechanics in a number of ways. Bhop is worse at high FPS because of 'jump-lag' but surf is better since ur airaccel value increases with higher fps & surf servers use 130.4

Never played CS myself before 2015. I'm so old that I used to play Quakeworld Team Fortress mod instead. But I did remember when I lived in an apartment in 2002 where my upstairs neighbor used to play CS, with speakers of course, and I had to listen to the grenades bouncing on the ground and of course the Uh Oh! from ICQ screaming out of the speakers as well. That's my anecdote for yall. 🙂

My favorite Counter Strike bug was pre 1.6. I got into the game just before the move to Steam, and for several glorious months I could Alt-Tab after joining a server, and for the rest of the match I would be immune to flashbangs, and smokes wouldn't render.

If you control a stationary turret that exists on some custom maps with the shield equipped the shield becomes invisible for players watching you from a third person view. Also cs 1.6 has a swimming animation and it looks hilarious when swimming with the shield. The hitbox is also broken when swimming.

On d2 A(x1) site you could hide the bomb in the box from the ramp, one guy standing crouch on top of the box and the other planting the bomb on the head. The guy that is crouch needs to look down slowly and the bomb would be placed inside the box. You can imagine the ct trying to found it or even if they figure it out, they cant defuse it.

Yeah 100 FPS in 1.6 is half the input lag of 100 FPS in CSGO. It feels responsive but it's still 100 FPS which for todays standards looks and feels jittery

And you had to buy individual magazines for the guns....which is kind of nice because you could do more interesting ecos, especially if they used modern bullet pricing lol. but I'm glad it just buys the maximum ammo possible now instead of buying it separately. There should be a mod that allows for this, just for community servers with de_ and cs_ gamemodes....because the cool part about og cs was if you picked up a gun that also took the same ammunition as the gun you were carrying, you would instantly have ammo for that gun So if you ran over a p90 and you had a glock it would refill your glock since I believe p90 takes 9 mil. Idk if that's still possible in 1.6 though
