This is an advanced method for hot process soap making. The alcohol in the wine acts as a solvent to help create fluidity. This worked very well. Enjoy!

@TinaMoenck

Priyan Priyan Thank you! Yes, cure time is about 4 weeks. Adding extra liquid after the cook extends cure time, and some may need longer depending on recipe, additives, and hardness number.

If it takes 4 weeks to cure, what's the advantage to this method over cold process? Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
@TinaMoenck
@TinaMoenck 7 жыл бұрын
Species710 Hot Process needs to cure just like cold process does, and we add more water to the fluid hp which extends cure time. The advantage to fluid hp is more control over the superfat and we don't have to worry about the lye affecting essential oils or milks we add after the cook. I do both cp and hp, and it's just completely preference and what works best for you.

Tina, you said you are using 20% liquid. Does this mean you use 20% of the water needed to mix with lye? The remaining 80% would be the wine, which you add after cook? I'm very sorry. Thank you!

Making soap for about 15 months, hot process for 4-5 months, all going well until yesterday, when hthp final stage slowly became rather pebbly..... I pushed it into molds (half and half containers) and refrigerated overnight. Took out, sliced, and set on shelf to cure. End pieces still very crumbly, not messing with slices yet. Look is quite separated and very like gravel (used Ground coffee and cinnamon for colors, in pot swirl failure, and essential oils, conifers and rosemary and cinnamon EO. So, what do you think was cause of this mess, and can it be rescued, rebatched, crumbled and stirred into plain new batch, or what? I appreciate any ideas, suggestions, name for this condition, cause of condition, rescue or ? Anything! 🤗

Hi I love all your videos and finally found the downloadable file with loads of details , so I'm very excited , I do have one question that confuses me , with hot process we add the super fat at the end of the cook , so does that mean when we are using the soap cal and the spot where it says super fat do we put that at zero ,, then once we have our reciepe printed off we then add 5% super fat after the cook .?.? Or am I meant to leave the soap cal at 5% and then add more again after the cook like an extra 2%. Which would mean the soap is really super fated at 7% , so sorry if that sounds confusing
@TinaMoenck
@TinaMoenck 7 жыл бұрын
Pamper Soap - MarinaLonergan Nope I get that question a lot. I calculate my recipes with a 5% superfat, and I just set aside some oil from the recipe to add after the cook. You can calculate with a 0% superfat, and add additional oils after the cook. Either way you'll have a 5% superfat if that's what you choose. :)
