Dont look at me! My kid got swats, grounded, had chores, allowance, responsibilities, learned to cook, clean and do laundry all before she was 12. By highschool, the only concerns I had was if she was home on time or not. Because I knew she was responsible enough to have everything else handled. Yes, I was there if needed. But I was rarely needed. Which is what you want for your child. So they can go out into the world, make good choices and be safe.

Imagine going hungry because there was too much food to choose from. When we were thrown out of the house in the morning and sent into the wild, our predicament wasn't what to choose from on the menu. It was choosing which berries to pick from the hedgerows that wouldn't kill you. Some of us chose poorly.

Whatever the opposite of menu anxiety is, I have it. I love huge menus and just taking my time going through it, narrowing down choices. It drove my wife nuts until she realized that it was part of why I liked going out to eat. She liked planning in advance so she could anticipate things and look forward to them. Find your partner's tiny joys and help them indulge in them, and communicate and let them help you indulge in yours.

First wave (96 to 01 and second wave (02 to 07) gen Zs have boomer parents as well and like many of the issues with us millennials and our Gen X siblings and parents they are also responsible for this 3. The first wave, Gen Zs'(96 to 01) solution, is to date and marry Finale wave millennials (91 to 95) to compensate for their handicaps.

Gen Z really needs to stop making EVERYTHING into some kind of disorder or trauma. I mean I'm glad mental health is getting so much more focus and self-care becoming accepted, but ffs, a moment of nervousness when you're trying to choose something off the menu isn't a traumatic experience. It's just a menu. They need to just learn how to say "I need a few more minutes, please" and _get over it._ Sheesh
