I've taught many people to ride a motorcycle. The bigger the bike and the faster you go, the more you need to countersteer, but the term really confuses people. So I've adopted a different teaching technique. I tell them - Push left, turn left and then I have them try it. The brain is a funny thing, they don't perceive it as 'counter' cause you are associating left with left. It's subtle but it works.

My advice when it comes to brakeing and also if you go over uneven terrain. Bend knees a little bit, dont stand straight. It gives more stability and also if you fall you can make yourself smaller quicker. Usually what i been doing on longboard when i go fast, then i prepared to "roll it off" if i fall 🤟

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but electric scooters are not being made legal in the UK in June, all that is happening is the government has moved up the trial of rental scheme with scooters to see what they need to do to be road legal, unfortunately they are not looking at private owed scooters. 🤷🏻♂️

Got a Hiboy s2pro a month ago, broke both bones in my left arm 2 weeks ago today because a car thought it would be funny to brake check me and stop to laugh at me after I had to make an emergency exit from the road to a parking lot to avoid hitting them. I hit the smallest pothole ever at 19mph but at that moment I forgot to lean back and went over the bars like superman. I'm so lucky I had a bike helmet on and just broke 1 arm in 2 places as it took the entire force of the fall, not a single other scratch on me. I can't wait to get my cast off at the end of July and get back out there, hopefully one day I can afford a better scooter. The worst part about scooter injuries is walking the scooter over a mile home with multiple broken bones and then driving myself to the ER since everyone I knew was working -_- Ty so much for this video, it'll help prevent future injuries!

@VRMinde17 күн бұрын
In Denmark you have bike paths almost everywhere and you are forbiden to turn left anyways. So I personally do not see a lot of need for them. But who can stop you for adding them? It is difficult to look back if needed but work with your conscious body/mind control if you decide to ride without the mirrors. Turn your head a bit, turn your eyes more, use peripheral vision and keep that handlebar and leening straight :)

Look at 5:06 or so in the video. Notice his head position. We go where we look. He is turning tight and looking where he wants to go. Turn your head! An important thing to do with any new motorized vehicle is to learn how everything feels first. This means spending time taking it to a big park, an empty parking lot and just try things out, such as braking hard, accelerating hard, corner hard etc. Learn what the scooter does at these extreme conditions and get used to how it behaves. A lot of accidents happen when people just take it out and ride in public and a dog runs in front of them or an obstacle causes them to brake hard, then they go over the top or lose control one way or another. Learn how these things feel before taking your scooter out on public roads!

Barry Morgan I do think you are fine mate :) at least one foot sideways lets you feel/steer the deck. And if you already ride like this for a while there is no important reason to change the stance. It also ok to change your stance to let your feet/legs rest. On long trips my calves are crying 😂

this might seem like an obvious one, but when riding you should always keep both hands on the bars beause of how short the bars are and where the centre of gravity is, it makes the scooter incredibly unstable at basically any speed
@VRMinde2 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the scooter. Some of them are very stable due to the correct angle of the vertical steering tube vs the wheel and some are much less stable. I think about riding and steering the scooter as a skateboard - steering with body and feet more than with hands. I do a lot of one-hand riding when filming :)

I like your tips but I feel KERS has a function not many people get. If you were to ever crash or get off your scooter at high speeds, KERS will automatically slow the scooter down to a stop in a couple seconds, which will likely prevent it from flying off into cars, or worse, pedestrians. I have been involved in a fall which was somewhat bettered by the breaking, so I shall say I'm speaking from personal experience. I can also see it preventing accidents on a very bumpy road which requires you to hold tightly onto the handlebars, although I agree with you on only holding onto them lightly if possible.
@VRMinde4 жыл бұрын
Empire Beats thanks for your comment mate. If there were a lot of mountains/hills around me I would probably leave it on. Here in Denmark is so flat, that it is hard to find any incline :) Regarding the bumpy road - I find it the most dangerous when I hold the handlebars with one hand. I tried letting my scooter run without holding the bars on a bumpy road - it jumps and wobbles like crazy, but the more speed you have, the more stable it actually is 🙄

Great video with good advice! Did you really ride your scooter with no hands? Did you lock the handlebars in place first? I'm too scared to try this. Also, when you know you're going to crash at 35kph, what's the best way to fall?
@VRMinde4 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! I did ride it without locking the bar and without holding the handlebar and steering with my feet and body :) It is dangerous and I do not recommend doing it. Best way to fall... It is hard to say, it depends. I am doing a lot of inline skating and falling many times a day in a skatepark. With every different trick, there is a different way to fall which you find out after repeatedly falling :D On a scooter, firstly you need to try and avoid crashing into hard objects - cars, trees, rocks etc. Going over the bars while holding the handlebar is not an option either :) You can almost always jump off on your feet, but if you are going more than 20km/h you will struggle to run that fast. I would most probably try to make a roll if on the hard surface or slide if on the grass. The best idea is not to fall :) I do not like electric scooters faster than 30km/h. E-bikes are better for bigger speeds. Larger diameter wheels, better brakes, etc.

I don't recommend using tip #3, especially with Xiaomi Mijia M365, since folding mechanism is a weak spot in this electric scooter.
@VRMinde4 жыл бұрын
Lukas Malaiska I would better sacrifice the mechanism instead of going over the bar :) And I have 3 xiaomi m365 from 2018 october, none of them have any issues with the folding mechanisms... I do not even use the rubber gaskets yet. Maybe I got just lucky
@lukas.malaiska4 жыл бұрын
@@VRMinde, 2:25 - that's too much, even the steering wheel folded a bit. You were right about bringing backwards the body weight before stopping, but you can do it even without putting a pressure and the weight on your steering wheel. And I'm almost sure that you don't want that the folding mechanism would break while you're driving. ;)

@VRMinde3 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, you do nearly 40 of what? Km/h on stock m365 battery and motor? I can not believe it as I have built and rebuilt at least 3 stock motors with different controllers, all possible settings, giving so many amps that I have burned 4 controllers 😂 and spent endless hours searching for info on the net. Whatever are the settings, stock motor even without any load (lifted in the air) is not spinning faster than 35km/h with a 10s battery. Even with 2 motors installed and 12s battery +10” tires my 85kg ass is not rolling faster than 38km/h. The only way you can do 40 is going downhill. I have a 500w motor now, will see how that goes :)
@afrocrypto35383 жыл бұрын
@@VRMinde well it have to be modded of course. I installed a 350w motor on it along with a cfw designed in the xiaoflasher app.honeycomb tires and better bearings. That gives me an initial speed of 38-39 and lowering down to 50% battery it run around 33-34.

Could you please tell me the model of a scooter that will do that? The most powerful one I tried is 5.8kw, still does not launch the front wheel in the air, unless you pull on the handlebars on purpose.

@@VRMinde I have the Segway GT2. It has 6000W motor. If you have it in race mode and pull the throttle you will start flying. You need to brace and lean forward or you’ll be thrown backwards. If you’re thrown backwards you’ll grab the handle bar and it’ll want to tip.
