@@P.EnglishLiterature I'm still watching. I wouldn't stop at the best part. LOL It's not just Nigeria that people aren't reading. That guy with the mask was kind of scary. Why did he have a mask? I was curious about looking up book clubs around me. I think the public library has one. Do you have public libraries?
@P.EnglishLiterature
@P.EnglishLiterature Ай бұрын
@@BookZealots Yes, there are public libraries here but they don't host book club meetings. I have searched my city and couldn't find one so, I thought to myself "why not create one at the absence of one?" You know, and yeah, we did it. We will be having another edition this week's Saturday on the 27th, Most of the members have read the chosen books but I haven't yet. I plan starting tomorrow, I have a lot of books to read myself, adding this to it looks like a lot. Haha. But I will get to it surely as the organizer, I can't be left behind.

I love all the history books in this tag. I have yet to read any of David McCullough's work, but I have heard great things and have a few of his books on my tbr. I look forward to doing the buddy-read with you for "My Dearest Friend"!

McCullough does not disappoint. There's a McCullough readalong starting next month with one of his smaller books. The books are being read in publication order. If you can you should join in. I am also looking forward to our buddy read. I told my son, "I'm already planning my tbr for 2025! LOL Isn't everyone?

@@BookZealots which McCullough book is being started in August? That sounds like it could be a fun readalong. Historathon makes the year seem like it's flying by; even though we're still solidly in Q3, it feels like we're already a hop, skip, and a jump away from Q4, with 2025 not being far behind. Not that I'm pulling the string; I'm enjoying this quarter. I need to make sure I write down on my developing 2025 tbr list that we have our buddy read, so that I don't forget about it!
@BookZealots
@BookZealots Ай бұрын
@@tahlia__nerds_out The first book for the readalong is The Johnstown Flood. @eldertalks is the host. She has an announcement video and a leisurely calendar for the reading plan. Participants can jump in with whichever books they're interested in or read all or one. I pulled My Dearest Friend out from its spot on the top shelf and put it on another shelf facing out so I won't forget. 😁 But I do also have a 2025 tbr excel spreadsheet started. The year certainly is flying. I think next year I'm going to do Historathon differently. I have come to realize I do not like secular prehistory. And not a big fan of the middle ages either. But get me into quarter 3 and 4 and I can't read fast enough for all of the books I have. LOL And often life interrupts.

I’ll have to check out @eldertalks; thanks! It will be interesting seeing how you’ll do historathon next year to better fit your reading preferences. Is there a specific reason you choose an Excel spreadsheet over a Word document for a reading list? I usually associate Excel with things with sums (like tracking costs, where the Excel formulas can simplify things)… so I was wondering if there is some sort of reason that I haven’t considered before that would make Excel more convenient (or fun) for this purpose. I know that I have only scratched the surface of everything Excel can be used to do.

For the cover I would pick The Amityville Horror the newest release with the House and the black and red cover. It just screams horror! I also would pick David McCullough book but I choose 1776. I love that cover. Interesting tag video -James

Hi, hello and interesting tags and choices. I wish I had more to contribute, but I got nothin lol. I finished up the latest Riley Sager and it was alright, didn't hate it but didn't love it either. One big thing though, and this is real big for me, I started listening to the audio version of this during our afternoon walks. Spotify has audiobooks now so I figured I'd give it a shot and am hooked now! Might as well use something that I'm getting charged for anyway right? I'm doing the same thing now with the new Stephen King short stories book I'm reading now Thanks again for sharing and take care! See ya on the next one

Hi, hello~ Sorry for the delay. KZbin had the comment blocked. That's great that you're able to listen to audiobooks while you're out walking. 👍 Riley Sager really falls flat for me. It's such a shame. Some of his books have a good premise, he just doesn't execute the stories well. I've read some of my uncle's book that is basically a memoir, but because I don't have spotify, I couldn't finish the book. LOL Happy reading and stay cool.
