Just a few corrections. I live nearby on the mainland. There is an airport on the Island, major airlines do not fly in but the airport accommodates decent size private aircraft. There are MANY Hotels, Inns and B&Bs. Also, The Grand Hotel did NOT originally hire only Jamaicans. They NOW hire many Jamaicans. Nice video other than those corrections

I also went to this island a few years ago and it was amazing. It really feels like an escape from the rest of the world, and would highly recommend anyone to visit. I also loved biking around the island and hope to make it back soon. happy late birthday to you both and thanks for the great video!

As a resident on the island, I must say the island is amazing. I've only been working / living on the island for about 2 seasons and 1 winter now. (2 years) Even though the magic I first felt as a visitor is gone and I do have a small bitterness towards the island at this current moment, it is still a special place. Glad you guys enjoyed your visit!

Although you were saying that the Sayklly's candy shop was built in the 1800s, the sign says "Since 1906," so I'm thinking you meant the 1900s. Also, 80% of the Mackinac Island is a state park called the Mackinac Island State Park. The park was first established as Mackinac National Park in 1875, which was the second national park established in the United States after Yellowstone National Park. In 1895, it was transferred to state control and reorganized as Mackinac Island State Park, which was the first state park in Michigan. The island is also home to the country's only motorless state highway called the M185, which circles around the island.

next time, go up to Sault Ste.Marie, Ontario and take the Algoma Central Railway's Algoma Canyon train trip....much better than this
