Only just found your channel.. brilliant instruction.. on the spin, I think it’s also important for the guy to keep his arm high, especially if he’s not overly tall, otherwise he’ll hit the top of the woman’s head

I am trying to improve my spin technique, specifically not getting too far away at the end of the turn. I think my trouble is distinguishing between traveling and spotting turns. So it is up to the lead if the follow is doing a traveling turn or a spotting turn, depending on where that north axis moves, and I just stay under his hand until he brings it down, right? And I think the advice about keeping my feet right under me is going to help me as well. So thank you for this video!

Hunter, is this specific to Colorado or Wyoming swing? I'm just starting to learn, but since I'm in Northern Colorado I'm finding there's some difference when I cross the state line. :)

It's considered social swing. Easier for beginners and those who lack rhythm to learn. It can be paired with any style of dance.

You're lead will direct you with firm structure/hands/pressure.

Yes On staying off your heels!! I tell people it like playing tennis keep on your toes(ball of foot) . On when you spin her the partner should have eye contact with their partner and no spaghetti arms firm but not steal ..haah

At the swing dancing bar here where I live, I've seen many a girl kick people in the face because the guy did an arial without checking that there was enough space.
