My Friend, nothing yet. The Best Band in the Universe. You have close to 120 songs to check. Amazing band. No one can compite with them and I will not suggest any song, it doesn't matter. All the songs are an impact to your brain. Keep going and you have no idea, no idea. Pick any song but better live and enjoy The Holy Grail of Rock

Actually nice to hear a lesser played song from their World Domination album 2018. If you prefer live do Official Live Videos for Domination, Real Exsistance, No God. For Music Videos do Warning, Choose Me, Blooming, to start with.

Glad you enjoyed Band-Maid who are entering their 10th year together, have an amazing great catalog of over 120 songs and will be touring the US in October. Band-Maid is classic rock reimagined. More energetic and FUN. From their YT channel check out DOMINATION-LIVE or PLAY-LIVE for a quintessential Band-Maid performance. Or check out ONSET-LIVE for a Rock instrumental that will get stuck in your head (who needs words?). The Awesome BAND-MAID are on the brink so get ready. Peace. 5.06

@@ChasingAnthems all their songs are so good it's hard to even pick. Fate is a b-side track in my opinion. My favorite songs are 'Choose Me' and 'Play' because they're so fun. But that is purely personal preference. I also really like the lyrics for Warning and Dice. The official live videos have English subtitles. Onset is a great instrumental. I tried to make a short Band-Maid playlist with only the songs that were too good to leave out and I ended up with over 30 songs.

Well, if you thought that was awesome than your in for a treat because this is generally considered a very average song and performance for Band-Maid. This shows a teeny, tiny sliver of their capabilities. This is a great album track but they played it pretty low-key here. They have no bad songs and they have dozens of truly special songs and performances that are probably a better, higher energy introduction to the incredible awesomeness that is Band-Maid. Many of us believe there is no better rock band on planet earth 🌍 - they are that good. Next try: - “Domination” - official live video - “No God” - official live video - “Manners & Black Hole” - official live video - “Play” - official live video - “Onset” - official live video - “Freedom” - official live video - “Real Existence” - official live video - “Wonderland” - official live video - “Blooming” - official MV - “Dice” - official MV - “Different” - official MV - “Warning” - official MV And the list goes on and on…! Rock On 🤘🏼

Cool to see a song that rarely gets a reaction! As others have mentioned, this is kind of a breather, pacing the setlist so everybody survives the two-hour concert. A really good song, especially (as with any Band-Maid tune) on subsequent listens when you start really hearing all the different layers, but you ain't seen nothin' yet 😁

Unusual choice for an introduction to Band Maid. Domination is the usual route. My preference of that genre is Play, but they're both fantastic. Fate is one of the more traditionally hard rock/blues oriented songs. I put it in the same category as "I can't live without you" and "Chemical reaction." My personal top 5 has been pretty stable over the last few months. I recommend all 6 (😁) of them. - Manners - bluesy groove rock - paired live with the chaotic Black Hole in a two-fer. - Corallium - no official video yet, but the audio is on the Band Maid KZbin playlists under Sense. - Moratorium - live - No longer lives on the official channel - Blooming - MV - Best Composition - Play - live - Puzzle - live - no longer lives on the official channel

I discovered Band-Maid a little over 2 years ago and they have become a favorite. I have been listening to rock/metal for over 50 years and it is much more difficult to impress me these days. With Band-Maid, I was impressed immediately. I had to learn about the history of the band so I did a lot of reading. The result is a not so brief history of the band I typed up a month or so ago, I hope you find it interesting. Band-Maid started from the brain of Miku Kobato in early 2013. She had been in an Idol trio that didn't catch on and like many Japanese girls trying to make it as an Idol singer, she worked in a Maid Cafe to make ends meet. When her trio fizzled out, she approached her label and suggested a band dressed like maids but who played hard rock. This was the same year Babymetal was blowing up in Japan (the nest year they would blow up worldwide). I have no doubt the Babymetal success helped with the label giving Miku the green light. At this time Miku was a pop singer that didn't play an instrument, yet wanted to form a rock band. Miku went on a talent search and found the KZbin channel of a singer songwriter guitarist named Kanami Tono. Miku was very impressed with Kanami and pitched the idea, maid outfits and all. Since Kanami preferred writing songs and playing guitar much more than singing, she agreed to join and even liked the maid outfit idea. Kanami also suggested they add a drummer named Akane Hirose, who Kanami had worked with before. Akane wasn't thrilled with maid outfits and had no desire to join an all girl group, but she respected Kanami a great deal so said yes. Akane had gone to school with a bass player named Misa and suggested her to Miku. Misa, however, didn't like the maid outfit part at all. After thinking about it for a day, she also said yes. Miku had her band. The label supplied a few songs and the band started playing. Miku discovered a big problem. She realized that she simply didn't have the voice to front a rock band with the caliber of musicians surrounding her. To her credit, Miku started looking for a lead singer. While at her Label's offices, she heard someone singing and was liked what she heard. The voice belonged to Saiki Atsumi who was a dancer and backup singer. Miku told her about the band (leaving out the maid outfit part) and asked Saiki to audition for the band. The audition went very well so the band invited her to join and told her about the maid outfits. Saiki disliked the maid outfit part more than Misa, but she really liked the band. She said yes. Band-Maid released their first album, cleverly titled Maid in Japan, on January 8, 2014. All the music and lyrics of the 8 song, 30 minute album were written by others. The mini album failed to chart at all in Japan. Their second album called New Beginning (9 songs and 33 minutes) released November 18, 2015 only reached #64 on the Japanese Oricon charts. Again all the music and lyrics were written by others. Two good things came out of that album though. The first was the music video for Thrill, the first song on the album. The music video was released the year prior to no fanfare at all. Band-Maid's small label was going to end the band and make Miku and Saiki a singing, dancing pop duo because New Beginning was not selling. Then suddenly western audiences discovered the music video of Thrill and Band-Maid exploded outside of Japan. The Thrill music video now has over 17 million views. Second, a sub-label of the giant Nippon Crown came calling and signed Band-Maid. Now with a new and bigger label, Band-Maid released Brand New Maid (8 songs, 31 minutes) on May 18, 2016. In addition a song by Kanami Tono was included on the album, with Miku and Saiki writing lyrics for the song and two others. The album reached #19 on the Oricon chart. Now Miku had a new problem, she didn't really know how to play guitar yet. On the albums, Kanami played her parts and in small concerts she just pretended (she was obviously just holding the guitar on the Thrill music video). In 2016, the new label was sending them on an overseas tour in front of crowds larger than they ever had in Japan. Lucky for Miku, she knew a very talented guitarist eager to teach her - Kanami Tono. Miku started finally to learn to play the guitar she had been holding. The 2016 tour was a success, especially in Europe. They also had a show in Seattle, Washington. On July 17, 2017, the album Just Bring It was released. With 13 songs it was by far the longest album (50 minutes). I also consider it the first true Band-Maid album. Kanami wrote 9 of the 13 songs and the lyrics on 11 songs were written by Miku and Saiki, primarily Miku. The album reached #16 on the Oricon charts. It also charted in the UK. On February 14, 2018, the band released World Domination (14 songs, 54 minutes). All the lyrics were written by Miku (except one cowritten by Saiki) and all songs were written by Kanami (3 she cowrote with non-band members). This album reached #9 in Japan and charted worldwide. It is my second favorite Band-Maid album. In 2019, Band-Maid returned to the United States but only four shows. On December 4, 2019, they released Conqueror (15 songs, 55 minutes). While they were working on Conqueror, they were contacted by Tony Visconti because he had heard them and wanted to produce a Band-Maid song. Kanami sent him one of her songs and assumed that he would changes. He did not. Tom Kenney wrote the lyrics and Miku and Saiki flew to New York to record the vocals. The song, The Dragon Cries, is the 11th track on the album. They were able to video a live concert in February 2020, before the pandemic shut things down. Videos from that performance have become very popular on KZbin. Sometime in 2020, Band-Maid changed labels, going from a sub-label of Nippon Crown to a Pony Canyon, a major label, On January 13, 2021, they released Unseen World (12 songs, 45 minutes). All the songs were written by Kanami and all lyrics by Miku. Unseen World is my favorite Band-Maid album and in my top 10 of last year. Kanami wrote the song Manners as a tribute to western classic rock. It is my favorite on the album and possibly one of my favorite songs of the last 20 years.

Welcome aboard, Travis. You are embarking on (along with many others - 145 million YT views plus over 30 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid: BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (118 songs with their latest album, “Unseen World” and new single drops), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5XWaJppgpJnorM Their later songs from albums Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Sense, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Glory, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis! And many songs are represented with over 40 well produced music videos. kzbin.info Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts:  ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHLHiKF_h896l80  Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th “Domination” kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5PcgnaAo5ulj8k  ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6K0n35_gbdoq5I  Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 (Full concerts from the last two songs are on bandmaidprime.tokyo and DVD/BD/CD) And some of the better quality 2019 tour Fan vids are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues:  Taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZCUpZttmNmag9E  And by JOSER8845 in LA: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6S6i6mifKx3idU. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid Members: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 28 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 30 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 30 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 31 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 29 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. [BAND-MAID NEWS]  BAND-MAID PRIME - Special Video Distribution Website. Along with nearly 50 great play-through’s by each member, concerts and skits, Band-Maid management / label(s) have included the ZEPP 2018 and Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 concerts! FROM JAPAN ◆ Thank you for your reaction to BAND-MAID. BAND-MAID is a real hard rock band. BAND-MAID is celebrating its 9th year of formation. BAND was formed by a girl who came to Tokyo from a local city Kumamoto of Japan to become a singer when she was about 19 years old. Five unique and talented girls gathered. The members have not changed, and they are continuing their efforts to improve their playing ability. They are constantly writing new songs and cool songs. Three new songs were released at the end of October. BAND-MAID is a hard rock band, but it's a very diverse band. Listen to different types of songs. 1 Thrill : The first music video that saved them from dissolution. Classic rock 2014 2 Sense : The theme song of the anime "Platinum End". Dramatic, fast hard rock with a classic intro. 2021.10 3 Bubble : A tribute to the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, funky rock 4 Different : First anime opening song, new sense of high-speed rock. Anime is "Log Horizon 3rd season". 2020.12 5 Daydreaming : Beautiful power ballad. Saiki and Kobato vocals and Kanami's guitar solo are wonderful. 6 Dice : Rhythmic hard rock singing women's independence. The girl blindfolded in the dark removes the blindfold at the end of the song and starts walking into the light. 7 about us : A gift for fans who cannot meet in a pandemic. Beautiful ballad. 2021.02 8 Freedom : A power rock that walks around the stage and conveys a smile. The transition from drum solo to lead guitar is the best. 9 Manners : Declaration to create new hard rock while inheriting classic rock. Cool hard rock. Rock'n'Roll never die. 10 alone : The song they wrote, composed and released for the first time. Medium speed Hard Rock 2016 11 Secret My Lips & Secret Maiko Lips : Funky Hard Rock. A gift for fans of April Fool's Day . 12 Blooming : Vocals and chorus are impressive, and various types of music are fused. 13 RINNE : High-speed rhythmic heavy rock, inspired by the Japanese horror movie "RINNE : Reincarnation". RINNE (Reincarnation) is also found in Eastern thought and Buddhist thought. 14 onset : Instrumental song for lead singer Saiki breaks, their great playing power and harmony. 15 Play : A song composed as an instrumental song, but Miku added lyrics as Saiki liked it. With different intros depending on the live. 16 Before Yesterday : Record of the first overseas performance, Sakura-Con in Seattle 2016. Melodic Rock with great lyrics. 17 Choose me : An insert song of the concert scene the Netflix movie KATE, they appeared as BAND MAID. Cool rock song. 18 Dragon Cries : The only song produced by Tony Visconti. It's not their lyrics, but it sings about the future of human society and the earth. Great Heavy Classic Rock . 19 After Life : A homage to the maid cafe and band formation where Kobato worked. BAND-MAID Hard Rock . 20 Corallium : The song that Saiki wrote all the lyrics for the first time. Hip pop style dancing hard rock. Added ★ Peace & Love ・ POGO : Founder Miku Kobato's solo project. Pigeon saves the world. Funky pop rock.

FATE is not even in the list 😂 For me, FATE was probably *the* song which was a gate to understanding BAND-MAID music. It's not very characteristic of their style, but it's closer to music which I used to listen to before, like Metallica. I never listened to Pantera, but now I listened to Walk and I do agree that the intro riff is indeed similar.

Thanks for checking out Band-Maid! It's really unusual that you found Fate first. It's probably my second favorite Band-Maid song, but it's really hard to find a video of it that hasn't been taken down. Anyway, if you want something else this speed and feel, look for Manners (either the MV or a two-song live that includes Black Hole for both extremes of their creative spectrum). Most people will tell you to react to Domination (live), and they aren't wrong. Daydreaming for a ballad. Freedom (live) for the most fun ever had in front of an audience.

I will tell you what ANY other Band Maid Fan (aka Maidiac) will tell you. Pick ANY song by The Ladies, and it will be good. When they first started their music was supplied to them through outside song writers, however they had a lot of input over those songs. They could have parts rewritten or changed to suit what they were trying to put forth to their audience. They also had some control over the arrangements of their music as well. Unlike a lot of "Manufactured" bands at the time, who did what they were told. So try any of The Ladies music, and it will be good.

I've never seen a reactor start off with the song Fate before, in fact, most reactors never check it out. That made for a nice change of pace! While Fate is a good song, it's just scratching the surface of the musicianship that this band is capable of. Manners/Black Hole (live) would be a good place to head next. If you want to get an idea of what Kanami (lead guitarist) is capable of, check out Onset (live).

THE best Rock band in existence. Genuinely superb musicians, as you clearly appreciate. Nice to see this rarely played song being reacted to but I'd recommend seeing more of them live too. There's an instrumental, 'Onset', ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4fVf2CglLqWZrc ) and the incredible 'Domination' ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5PcgnaAo5ulj8k ), where all the musicians get a solo slot. This song is not band-maid's own composition, but it is my favorite. The composer is Mr. Akutsu. He has provided band-maid with very groovy songs such as "shake that" and "turn me on. Also, most of band-maid's early works were written by outside composers. One of band-maid's music videos is called "befor yesterday," and the composer is one of Kanami's favorite composers. In the music video, band-maid is walking around the streets of Seattle dressed as a maid. I was surprised because band-maid is walking around the streets of Seattle dressed as a maid in the music video. I think people who don't know the band-maid would be surprised to see them, but I was surprised to see more people than I expected at the Seattle event. I am so grateful to the band-maid fans that they were able to see the band perform at the Seattle event, and that the audience was more than they expected. I am sure the band members will never forget how the people of the United States saved them (the band was totally unknown in Japan at the time, and even now they are still a band known only to those who know them in Japan). By the way, Kanami, a member of band-maid, had a hard time until her song was accepted by the producer, and when she was about to give up, Saiki encouraged her to keep composing and now she is a composer who is not unknown among Japanese rock musicians. By the way, when he made an album called "Conqueror," Mr. Saiki told him at the end, "I want more rock songs," and Kanami almost collapsed. I think Kobato-san is having a hard time being surrounded by such demanding musicians (she wanted to be an idol, but because she came up with the idea of combining rock and maid, she ended up becoming a member of the most masculine hard rock band in Japan, even though all the members are women). It is good that band-maid has become successful enough to live on music alone to some extent, but the work has become very hard, I guess. In addition, band-maid has been written a great deal of articles by a reporter of a rock magazine that only covers hard rock bands, saying that band-maid is "the hardest rocking band in Japan". (I once saw an article with photos of Kanami and Akane being loved by the members of a legendary hard rock band, which I did not know but which is known to anyone who has listened to Japanese rock music.) I remember that when Kobato-san was alone on the FM radio of NHK, Japan's public broadcaster, a real maid was also there, and she seemed to enjoy talking about maids, and At that time, I felt that Kobato-san was also having a hard time. By the way, in Japan, when I go to Akihabara, I see maids handing out pamphlets, which I think is cute, but at the same time it is very strange to me. I am not an idol otaku, so I have yet to visit a maid cafe because I am afraid of them. If you ever travel to Japan, for band-maid fans, try @Home Cafe, Kobato's former workplace in Tokyo (well, I don't think people who like hard rock will go there). Some of the other maid cafes are dangerous and charge exorbitant fees, so please do your research. There is an orthodox, genuine hard rock café in Japan that originated in the U.S., so band-maid fans should feel safer there.

What an interesting song to start with. I think you're probably the first person who ever started here. I think they were going for a stadium anthem type song with all the obvious crowd participation parts. If you like their main genres - their songs are hard rock first and foremost, with smatterings of pop-punk, metal, jazz, even some borderline rap - you will be spoilt for choice. This is honestly one of their most ... basic? songs. It's very straight-forward. I hope you come back to them. Everyone has different tastes, so I understand if you're just not into the sound, or if the ~60% Japanese lyrics is a bridge too far. But honestly, they're so very good at both the playing and the crafting of the music in interesting ways. Once the record company allowed them to write their own stuff (roughly their 3rd album) the music went from really well-played standard to amazing.

Looking through the comments there are many great suggestions with Domination LIVE being my top recommendation. Can't forget some of their older stuff though like The Non-fiction Days or even Alone which was their first "band written song" to be released with a punk vibe and one of Kanami's best guitar solos... This slow stomp of a song is far from the norm with Band-Maid which makes it a nice change of pace when it comes on the playlist, but maybe it unfortunately isn't the best for a first-time reaction.
