what's great about Jeff Beck is it's never the "me show". He's constantly showing respect to the other members of the band. What a cool dude with supernatural skills.

Like Eric Clapton said, There's blokes like me who play guitar and then there's Jeff. R.I.P. Jeff Beck! I've been with you since the beginning and just because you've passed doesn't mean we'll stop listening.

This performance is from early 1999. I recommend anything from his show at Ronny Scotts' club in London; it's stellar.

Jeff Beck was a guitar god over several genres, pop, rock, blues, jazz, fusion etc. for several decades. Thank you for the upload, and great reaction. RIP Jeff, you will be greatly missed, thank you for your contribution to music.

Great reaction - room to breathe is exactly right & the number of people Beck worked with, helped, spotlighted in his life is as huge as he was. The man was a genius but more importantly he was humble & from all accounts a great human being. Rest In Peace.

I recall Jeff saying he was a 'guitar experimentalist' and I think that sums up his style and approach quite a lot. Totally original. RIP to the great man.

You have to watch Jeff's hands! He can control volume, whammy and pick at the same time. He bends the neck as well. No one can duplicate Jeff Beck!

For the superb lead player he is he was an ensemble player, he wanted to showcase the whole band and not just have them as backup session players, makes his songs so rich and enjoyable, and he loved playing guitar live, always having a great time

Jeff Beck was unequaled, so says Jimmy Page ("leaving us mere mortals") and many others. I was so lucky to have grown up listening to the Yardbirds as a kid right through picking up playing bass during the mid-70"s and "Blow by Blow" and "Wired" and beyond. "Live at Ronnie Scotts" says it all about this rock modern Mozart.

I've been a Jeff Beck fan since the late 60's, and this song wasn't one of his better ones. See how he plays melodies using the whammy bar to bend harmonics on "Where Were You" from Live At Ronnie Scott's. Jennifer Batten, his second guitarist here, used to play Van Halen's "Beat It" solo when she toured with M.Jackson, and had a column about tapping in Guitar Player Magazine.

*Roger Waters* wrote the vast majority of the stuff that created that famous *Pink Floyd* sound. While their later albums are great, they sound less 'Floydy' than Waters' rock operas, after Floyd. On each of them, he had to replace one of the world's greatest guitar players, so he's variously chosen people like *Eric Clapton,* and on one of the best albums-- *Amused to Death* --he used *Jeff Beck.* His style played beautifully into the feel for *'What God Wants Part One.'* If you don't know the album, it's an impressive piece of art to many.

Jeff had”NO” hits. He never had a charting record. Nor did he try or need one. He played what he wanted and didn’t ask for permission. From “Blow by Blow” , in the 70’s, to present it was all about making his music and showcasing musicians in his band. RIP Jeff

Jeff Beck may never have had a chart record in the US but in 1967 got to Number 14 in the UK singles charts with Hi Ho Silver Lining. This is an out of character almost novelty recording that he wasn't comfortable with but it was produced by Mickie Most (well known for his pop hits including House of the Rising Sun by The Animals and Susie Quatro's 70s output) who was trying to build on Beck's reputation from The Yardbirds (which he had just left). At the same time Most most producing the first Jeff Beck Group album, Truth, which is now regarded as a blues-rock classic that paved the way for the likes of Led Zeppelin. Hi Ho Silver Lining (if you listen carefully you can hear Rod Stewart on backing vocals) was a party favourite in the UK but, of course, is not representative of what he was trying to do at the time or what he did later.

"Blow by Blow" peaked at number 4 on Billboard, seven others reached top 20 if you include "Beck, Bogert & Appice" (peaked at 12). Five albums RIAA certified gold, two RIAA certified platinum. His 2008 "Live at Ronnie Scott's" DVD also RIAA certified platinum.

Jeff was beyond legend. He was a creative genius and titan of the gods!!! His masterpiece of all is "Angel (Footsteps)" at Ronnie Scott's. - (kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpWmeJeCaLdjpJI) Nobody but nobody can do this, let alone think it up in the first place! He was my hero since I was 10 in 1965. To say he will be missed is a cosmic-level understatement! My heart is broken!!! He was the one I always looked to when things were looking down and too far in the distance.

You wanna get at the core of the best of Beck? Do yourself a favor & check out Live At Ronnie Scott’s concert free on KZbin. You haven’t even touched the surface yet. “Cause We’ve Ended As Lovers” , “ Pork Pie Hat”, “Les Boots”, etc. Also live at the Hall Of Fame induction ceremony for Stevie Wonder doing “Suspician”, a song written by Wonder for Beck, also on KZbin.
