Country Hall of Famer Barbara Mandrell returns to Grand Ole Opry to celebrate 50th anniversary

Actor, musician and singer Barbara Mandrell retired more than two decades ago, but the Grand Ole Opry still feels like home to her. The Country Music Hall of Famer celebrated 50 years as an Opry member. (July 31)

I remember watching her in her prime. She is the most talented female. I loved her variety show and laughed and laughed. It was a sad day when she walked away from it all and never returned. I was young and didn’t understand. I do now. There is more to life than our work.

Nobody.. and I mean NOBODY could touch this lady in the 80s and 90s! She was the ultimate entertainer. She could sing any genre, dance and played so many instruments in her live shows. She was on a level with Liza, Cher and a few others but she was unmatched as a live entertainer. Congrats Barbara 👏👏👏

I stole Barbara Mandrell's Newspaper in 1984. I was at her house in Hendersonville. It was outside her home fence. LOL....We were there visiting Nashville. Hope she still has that beautiful home.
