Country music legend Kris Kristofferson dead at 88

Greetings from South Africa. Rest in peace, Kris. The greatest songwriter. I met Kris 26 March 2014. His parting words to me was: "I like your spirit". I told Kris that I was a fan for decades and thanked him for his amazing songs and music.

One evening in 1972 my Canadian dad came home and asked me if I knew someone by the name of Kris Kristofferson. I was a young hippy then and my dad was pretty square. Turns out he met him at the house of Ronnie Hawkins. Apparently they got on pretty well after both learned the other was a military pilot when they were both young.

Seen him a few times. Tears came to my eyes every time. Loves this guy's writing, singing and his humility. Giving thanks to him and the blessings that have made our family bond together listening to his music. Sadly missed

He signed an autograph for me at Ontario Place years ago, about 1979/80, all I had was a pack of export papers, he signed it Cisco Kid, rest well Kris.
