Spartanburg South Carolina😊 I have a 1945 1946 double neck lap steel 6 string . I have a photo of my mom playing in 1957 with a lap steel I didn't even know until 1980. We were in Bakersfield CA.from 1969 till 1977 We met Merle Haggard,Buck Owens,Freddy fender, Ron Cook Kenny Rogers. I've played professionally for 40 years. Never thought about playing lap steel. I was on stage at the rhyman theater. 1993. Open up for David Allan coe John Anderson, Charlie Daniels Billy Joe Royal and still playing

Ive just come across a CD in the UK produced by a friend of mine by the Nelson Brothers. Listened to the pedal steel and no mistaking Al Perkins' beautiful tones! Well worth a purchase.
