I wish instructors teaching Country Swing would also teach floorcraft with that dance because those guys are forever busting into the CTSr's line of dance. Just one of my pet peeves.

There is a good group in arizona that are teaching country swing. Country swing developed in the bars which is why floor craft is not really there. But I think as it developes it will get better.

This is a great video thank you most of which I kind of knew but its good to see it live. Would love to see the difference between Hustle and Country Swing because they look so similar on video and when you dance them.

That is a great idea, I will put it on the list!

It’s popular cuz it’s easy and you can go from complete beginner to decently competent in a couple of months, at a bar, while drinking with friends. Good luck doing that with west coast swing 😂

Country Swing reminds me so much of Hustle just different music danced very similarly. I've been taking WCS classes for about 2 years when you really get decent at it looks fantastic. It is much easier to pickup Country Swing and Hustle over WCS. I tell newbies all the time that Hustle is by far the easiest to learn.

Country swing looks very similar to hustle (or discofox in Germany) to me. Slow is a tap, but the patterns are the same.
@WestCoastSwingOnline6 ай бұрын
They are all very similar for sure!
@bartsullivan4866Ай бұрын
I thought the same thing so similar to Hustle much easier to pickup for beginners

Country swing looks very similar to Social jive 🤔 east coast swing is like a milder version of ballroom jive, and then I recently discovered videos of rockabilly jive. . . it is never ending 😂

Fingers crossed that during this resurgence of country music that artists actually put out good country music but I'm not holding my breathe on that one.. There's just been way too many stupid songs that are supposed to sound emotional I guess but don't.. "dodging potholes In my sunburnt Silverado", "I don't wanna be in a one man band", ... come to mind when I think of songs I've heard playing when I've gone dancing where I'm like "wth is this?"..

Not everybody has to like country music. West coast swing might be a dance that suits your musical preferences way better 😊
@bartsullivan4866Ай бұрын
What I noticed about modern country music is that they have been trying to steal rock music elements for years drum solos guitar solo's not your classical style country music. More electric guitars than acoustic. Leaning more towards rock and pop away from country. Not saying that's good or bad just what I noticed. I personally love classic rock Bob Seger stuff. Maybe the modern country figured more people will dance to a faster beat who knows.

@@bartsullivan4866 Most modern country singers just have terrible voices that do not suit any song. That's why I can't see how Luke Bryan could be a judge or coach on any musical talent show -- the dude's voice just sucks.

What type of swing has the pattern slow slow quick quick and is danced on faster music than jive, but with many similqir patterns? I thought that was ECS, but clearly from this video it is not…
@WestCoastSwingOnline7 ай бұрын
Oh great question. There are 3 swings that have similar or the dame patterns but you do to different speeds, Jive, East Coast Swing, and Single time sing (jitterbug). Jive and single time swing are done to the same speed music. Single time swing or jitterbug is the dance you are thinking of. It is a great dance! You can find some videos on jitterbug on our site www.socialdanceonline.com
