We didn’t switched side, we enstablished a coup because the Italian people were tired of the war and a civil war was inevitable; the other fascists did the right thing. Then the Germans attacked us to free Mussolini and so the civil war started, between north and south. We are nor cowards, because we kept fighting, and we realized that we were fighting on the wrong side because an asshole wanted to ripristinate the Roman Empire. Probably your nation would have done the same in those circumstances.

In World War 1, you switches sides and betrayed the mutual defense alliance you had with the Germans and Austrians that you had signed before by defecting to the side of the Entente. You may say since it was a mutual defense agreement, they weren't required to because it was Austria who declared war on Serbia. Well guess what, it was Russia who declared war on Austria and France who declared war on Germany, and yet you became friends with France, the country that attacked the ally you were supposed to protect? And you still say you aren't traitors? That doesn't add up. It's comparable to Russia, who sworn to protect Serbia, didn't declare war on Austria after it attacked Serbia. That's treason and an act of cowardice. In World War 2, you also switched sides. After the Allied invasion of Sicily and subsequently the Italian peninsula, Italy was supposed to be liberated *because all Italians wanted to serve as a way for the Allies to go through to defeat Germany*. Read that again, if you will. Italians betrayed the Germans by throwing out the government and establishing one that was on the Allied side. The only reason the civil war came is because Germany, like I said (but you seem to not have read my comment at all and you probably won't read this one either, because you're an ignorant who won't accept the truth), rushed in to establish a puppet with Mussolini heading it which *no Italian wanted*, they were just forced to do so by the government. So it's millions of people against one person, who decide to betray their war ally and defect to the other side, even *helping them invade Italy*. That may be bravery, but it's also treason, you have to accept that.

In WW1, the Entente promised Italy Trentino, Istria and Dalmatia; Italy accepted because the Austrian territorial promises were just Trentino and Corse. It might be a treason, but in war everybody makes treasons for their own good. Also, the Entente betrayed Italy in Paris, only giving it Istria and Trentino; many Italians, so, realized that it would have been better to join the Central Powers, but it was too late. In WW2, the new government declared neutrality, but then Germany invaded Italy, annexing Istria and South Tyrol, so technically Germany attacked the new government of Italy. You are right, on both point, but we didn’t do it like nothing and just like that. Also it’s not fault of the italian people, but of the government. So the Italian people aren’t cowards, they were just tired of the war and wanted peace. So, basically, Italy switched sides the first time for a promise that was then broken by the Americans, and in the second because the Italians were tired of fighting, so a peaceful deposition was better than a civil war, that we had anyway because of Hitler.

Let’s end this nonsense quarrel because we are also disturbing the others in this comment section.

As an Italian, I must say that you’ve made a very accurate job and the deep research and hard work on the creation and realisation of this video can be seen. Not even a lot of Italians know things you included, such as the armistice signed on September 3, 1943 (a lot of us think it was signed on Sep 8, while it was just published on that day), the Gothic line (actually, I didn’t know this one either and so thanks to you I learnt something new) and the existence of the CLN. And, since I’m a Triestine, I can tell you something about the history of the Free Territory of Trieste (FTT, 1947-1954). After Yugoslavia “liberated” Trieste and occupied it for 60 days, the UK and the USA and Yugoslavia decided to create a military government called the FTT (split into two zones: Zone A, Trieste, controlled by UK/USA, and Zone B, a part of Istria until Novigrad in Croatia, controlled by Yugoslavia). In 1954, the allies left Trieste and the FTT ceased to exist. But there are some fun facts: some “nostalgic” people nowadays want the FTT (ex Zone A) to come back, and some crazier people even want it to be part of Austria again. xD To conclude, it would have been cool to see also some countryballs of the two main parties of the 1950s-1990s (Communist Party and Christian Democracy), as well as some very known terroristic attacks by fascists and some of the struggle with Cosa Nostra (Sicilian Mafia), although I understand that it would have extended the video more and the work would have been more.
