I haven't been excited about any bags until this one. I need to do a gift for one of my daughters friends. Going to get the pattern. The fabric is Cotten Directional Boston Bruins, I've already made 2 pouches for her crochet tools. Going to make a bag for my daughter and myself with other fabric. ❤

I just made this sling bag. It was the first time making anything like this. It turned out pretty ok for a 1st time. I plan on making more of these hopefully with better results, lol. I learned a lot making it and wanted to say thank you guys for a great design!!

Wow! What a superb tutorial. I must commend you on how professional your presentation was. I have watched a LOT of videos from people giving sewing tutorials and when they fluff around (and say oops and um), it sadly disjoints the flow!!!!! You did neither of this and it was like watching a TED talk of a Skill Share lesson. Many thanks, and I wish you every success in your business!!!!!!!

I just got the pattern and have it prepped. Is waterproof canvas too thick for lining if your exterior is a thin polyester with interfacing? I’m making it out of a sports jersey. I have cotton cut out for the lining but I did consider waterproof canvas.
@CountryCowDesigns8 ай бұрын
As long as it’s not a thick waterproof canvas it should be fine
@lyndahargis24958 ай бұрын
@@CountryCowDesigns Thank you. I might give it a try next time. I think for my first one, I will keep it really thin and work up to a thicker application. Thanks for the response!

Great pattern and video, I have just got a HD9 so learning curves! What thread do you use for top and bobbin? When you say basting stitch do you have to change the stitch from the main stitch? Are you going to be at the UK stitch festival ? Thanks
@CountryCowDesigns9 ай бұрын
Thanks ☺️ I tend to use a longer stitch length for basting as it doesn’t need to be strong. If you need help with what treads to use I recommend this video we made a little while ago kzbin.info/www/bejne/qH3MepWVh9R0gqMsi=rMXdXR8yr4l7vFYy

Hi Jo Could you pls explain briefly why you don’t topstitch all around the bag - i.e. over the zips. I am thinking it would be neater to topstitch all around, but I know you will have a reason. Thanks.
@CountryCowDesigns7 ай бұрын
You can topstitch if you want to. Lots of people of do. I just don’t think it looks very good top stitching over the zip in my opinion.

Hi. Thank you for such a watchable tutorial video. I have just received some of your beautiful water resistant canvas fabric, and would like to make this pattern in it. Would you use it as it is, or would you interface it please? Many thanks. Lesley.
@CountryCowDesigns4 ай бұрын
For the exterior fabric I would use a light interfacing. But you could use it without though if you wanted an easier sew. I wouldn’t interface it if I was using for the lining.

Jo, I have a question. My stepdad just passed and I was thinking about make this bag for siblings, grands etc. with some of his ties. What do you think.
@CountryCowDesigns9 ай бұрын
To be honest I’ve never tried it. Ties are often made from very thin material so I image you would definitely need to interface the material.

I'd like to use webbing for the O ring connector and the cross body strap. Since the strap slide hardware is 1 inch I assume that would be the size of webbing to use, but I want to make sure that it works at the top of the bottle piece before I start sewing. Should I have any concerns to address?
@CountryCowDesigns8 ай бұрын
The pattern is designed to use 1 inch webbing for the main strap

Why wouldn’t you recommend tabs at the zipper ends for less bulk?
@CountryCowDesigns9 ай бұрын
It would make the zip opening too small
