I recorded this for one of my CD's in the late 90's and at first it did not get too much attention but then, one by one people started telling me that it was played at their Mothers, or Brothers, or Dads, or Aunts or whatever loved ones funeral. And then I had the experience of singing it at my own Father's funeral in 2003 via CD. I could not do it live because I am so easily overcome by emotion. But what a great song Vince Gill wrote here. You guys just sing the wheels off of it just like you do everything else you sing. Bless you guys. You all have a God Given voice. Thank Him that you found each other!

You will give as proof of your claim Ephesians 2:8-10 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. But as a Christian you must agree that the Bible was written by individuals who were moved by the Holy Spirit to write it exactly as God directed. So we must agree as Christian’s that the Bible is completely true or if parts can be ignored, discredited or as many try to claim some parts are not foundational and don’t have any impact on our belief that Jesus is Gods son sent to die for our sins, and arose from the dead. Timothy 3:16-17 2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV [16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. All of it is profitable, and can be used to perfect us in Gods site. Galatians 1:6-9 KJV [6] I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: [7] Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. [8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. [9] As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. The above verse along with Jude 1:3 KJV [3] Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Discredits anyone who claims to have been given some revelation from God, an Angel, a self declared Apostle… the scripture is the one and only source for the entire belief system of someone who claims to be a Christian and following Christ. Jude says it was delivered ONCE for all. (Mormons will leave your porch when you show them 2 Tim 3:16-17 Most people who believe what you said and will use the verses in Ephesians as proof for salvation by grace/faith alone will claim that reciting a “sinners prayer” which goes as follows: "Lord Jesus, I want to have a personal relationship with You. I know I am a sinner and I believe You died on the cross for my sins. I turn from those sins and put my faith in You right now to be my Lord and Savior, my God and Friend. Thank You for hearing this prayer. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen". There are many slightly differently phrased prayers but basically this is the idea. This is a very recent doctrine and is first recorded in 1940 by Bill Graham. One last point and if you want to have a productive back and forth address this next verse and tell me what is occurring in the passage. Explain how the individuals Jesus is speaking to would not meet the standard for how one is saved that you are claiming via Ephesians 2:8-9. Matthew 7:21-23 KJV [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Jesus statement says calling on his name, declaring him son of God isn’t enough. Those who practice salvation via a sinners prayer would be in that group. What did Jesus say they lacked? They didn’t do the will of the father, and they worked iniquity. Which is to say without authority or outside of Gods will. Normally the responses to this information will be more verses that also seem to be saying what you claim. But that doesn’t address any of the arguments I’ve raised. We have to have a harmonious understanding of the entire scripture. Quoting other verses that are in line with Ephesians doesn’t explain the massive volume of contradictions that are just as much Gods word as any other. So why didn’t Grace and faith save the people in Matthew 7. Why did Jesus use the action verb ποιέω/forth to explain the requirement they failed to meet.

These guys are great. People putting them down means they're idiots. I'm not really a huge country music fan but they really pull at my heart strings and I am enjoying them immensely.

I've been listening to this song for years. So in this difficult month. My partner passed away unexpectedly three years ago. He was then sixty. Finally he had the peace that he did not have here on earth. This song makes me cry every time. Home Free sings it with so much emotion. Especially Rob's voice. Because even though I love all the voices of Home Free, I don't know why, but with Rob there is always a special feeling through my whole body. Sometimes it gives me goosebumps. And not just with this song. Also many compliments to the other members of Home Free. You guys are just too great. Please, stay together forever. You are so unity. The harmonies, the inhuman beatboxing, the background, the high and low notes, the choral sounds etc etc.

I agree, There is something about Rob's voice. The songs where he take lead are my favorites. I listen over and over. And this one will probably always be my number one. And I want them all to stay together always.

Gwinn Johnson I lost my dad 37 years ago, and occasionally a song like this will bring him to mind, and I can’t hold back the tears. I don’t care how weak that makes me look, he and Mom were too special to me not to still feel the holes they left, every so often.

And again....I miss you so much....it has been two years on the 3rd and 4th of September...two of the most horrible days on the calendar.....then to celebrate your amazing birth 56 years ago on September 1965....yes, you can rest now my sweet child and your mother will be there with you before you know it. I love you, Rick...my sweet boy.

September 7th.....one of the seven most amazing days ever....your birth and the the births of your brother Patrick and then your five sisters Aimee, Catherine, Amanda Leigh, Sara and Ashley...the seven reasons why I was born...but now, my sweet Rick, you can go rest until the glorious day when I will join you and will hopefully find out what happened to end your life...I miss you, my sweet son and I am so glad that I got to have you for almost 54 years and see your accomplishments...you were an outstanding son, brother, husband, father and friend. I am so proud to have been your mother...I will always love you.

I know Vince Gill is so proud . This was played at my Sisters funeral. And it touched the heart of so many that was there. I’ll always remember her and I miss her dearly. She was taken from us way too soon but she was suffering with lung cancer and it was her time to be out of pain. Tears are just rolling down my my face. They also played amazing Grace your chains are gone. It’s so hard for me to listen to These songs because I have lost everyone in my family but one sister. 🥲

One of the most beautiful songs ever written. Adding a verse of Amazing Grace in there somehow made it even better. I'll admit, every time I hear this song, I shed a few tears for those that have gone home to God before me. Sad for my loss, and happy for their eternal joy. A blend of tears to say the least. Thank you gentlemen for sharing this song through your vocal talents with the rest of us. God Bless,
