For my wife and I's 5th wedding anniversary I decided to pick up a guitar and (in secret) learn to play our first dance "CoJo With you I am". Hadn't ever touched a guitar in my life but decided this was the day to start learning which was exactly one month before our actual anniversary date. So for that entire month I watched your video "With you I am" over and over as well as your first 4 chords and so many others. I played every single day watching your videos over and over until my fingers just wouldnt let me anymore from the pain. By the time our anniversary came around and I whipped out that cheapo Sonart guitar I snagged off ebay for $100, her and my 7 month baby girls eyes lit up when I started to play. In reality ive only been playing little less than two months now (and mediocre at best) but to her she is just amazed at how well I can play in such a short period of time and its all thanks to your videos. Just like you said in this video here, I pick up one new little thing every time I watch one of your videos. Have a son that turns 4 in just a few months and he even enjoys trying to strum along side me with his little mini guitar. Just want to reach out and just give you a huge thanks for everything you have done so far and continue to do. God bless you and your family and look forward to learning so much more from you.

Thanks Matt! I tend to lose it when I try to sing along with the rhythm. For example, I can play Sand In My Boots and I can sing Sand In My Boots but I can’t do both together! Any advice?

Yesssssah.... Everyone says to just do it but I clearly sound sooo different while I play vs when I hear it on a radio. I know I can sing better oooor I mess up my strumming..... Heeelllp

I was finally able to sing and play wagon wheel for the first time ever last week. It honestly feels like patting your head and doing circles and patting your stomach at the same time. So harddd. But what clicked for me is playing along with the song and just get use to that. Then singing some parts of it and when I got lost in the song. I would just pickup where the song was at and continue. After 5-8 times of doing that, one of the times it just clicked. Like riding a bike, it was so weird. Now I can play, staying in rhythm for the most part and sing along. It’s so weird as I felt I couldn’t do it just 2 weeks ago.
