10 Non-Endgame ER Couples - ["Happy Ending" - MIKA]

These are 10 of the many relationships on ER that did not get happy endings. These relationships all ended in either breaking up or in one of the two tragically dying. Or in two of the cases they never really began, they were definitely shippable and even kissed once each (Carter/Lucy and Mark/Susan) but... they never really were properly a couple. And coincidentally Lucy and Mark both did leave the show with tragic deaths too.
There are some characters and couples excluded from the vid, but these are the ones that the 10 of us most wanted to do set to this song.

Loved this! Amazing job and so emotional. I think my favorite couple that never got to be together was Lucy/Carter. That torn me up when she died! And Mark/Elizabeth is always so sad, but at least they got to be with each other for a while. Amazing job to everyone and great song choice!

I really liked Chen and Pratt together and it is interesting how our choices from the past shape who we are and what happens in the future. I think Pratt would have seen her in a completely different light if she had kept her baby, I think he would have seen the relationship as more marriageable and would probably have been swept away by her and by her son, but that was not who she was. She seemed to tell him that was just not a priority with her-having another child and raising that child. She made the choice to place her baby up for adoption which I appreciated seeing a storyline where someone does that it is not really explored that much and gets rarer and rarer-putting one's baby up for adoption. It just never seemed the same between them after he learned that. And she clearly wanted more. I liked so many of these couples but as in life, things sometimes just don't work out and timing and twists of fate are everything.

it is very emotional. great job. my favorites are and always will be: carter and lucy :( The story of the two makes me so sad. I would have liked more seasons with both and also as happy lovers.

Oh wow! I don't watch the show, so I don't know any of the couples, but I just FELT this, ya know? Beautiful job, the song and the editing are just perfect and knowing that none of these couples make it to the end just adds to the heartbreaking nature of this...amazing job everyone!

They had the mixed race stuff with Neela/Ray, Neela/Gallant, Pratt/Chen, and Benton/Elizabeth, Sandy/Kerry, Carter/Kem, and Morris/Claudia (remember Carter & Benton bonding in that season 15 episode and Benton teasing him for marrying a black woman lol?)... and maybe more people of color too... and in my opinion they portrayed them all fairly and realistically. Pratt's last love interest on the show WAS black by the way - she died. Remember? He was going to propose! :P & Benton/Cleo worked out.

I loved Carol's and Luka's relationship! He was so cute with Tess and Kate! Would have been a great Dad for them! I remember Carol saying to Mark: "They deserve a father". They could have had one in Chicago if Carol had been a bit more corageous and open-hearted!

Also Luka's story makes me so sad. I mean if you look at it he wanted to be with Carol and was with Sam because he wanted a family so bad *.* When Sam left him my heart just broke to see poor Luka, he was so happy that he almost had a family, and then he just lost it all again :(

Luka never loved Carol or Sam. He wanted a family so badly after his loss but timing was off. He was always drawn to children. Carol told him he’d find his love and he did, he found Abby and she gave him a son something he so desperately wanted again. I was glad Luka found his true love and Joe came along. He couldn’t truly be a father to Tess or Kate or Alex because they had a father. I was glad they finally let Luka have what he truly wanted again. Abby and Joe.

It almost made me cry. I feel like I'm the only person that didn't like Mark and Susan as a couple,I felt like they were better as friends then as anything romantic. I did like Peter and Elizabeth but I am so glad she ended up with Mark they were just an amazingly strong couple and it makes me sad that Mark died before they got to really explore their marriage. I just loved this whole thing.

I know in the case of Benton and Elizabeth, rumor has it the reason they didnt work out in the show was because Alex Kingston was uncomfortable with the relationship. It was a choice made in real life not in the writing world.

This was so amazing and introduced me to several new couples. I watched ER the early years and stopped when they brought in all these new characters I didnt know. butthis video truly shows how some of the relationships intertwine and its so emotional.
