Agreed! My reasoning was 1-make a fun video, 2-test out what that deck did in tall grass with a mulch kit installed, 3-prevent discharge/overspray/possible damage from using my zero turn, which does have a chute blocker but wouldn't hold itself shut with all these clippings (it is spring loaded so too many clippings push it open).

It's no wonder the former lawn guy abandoned these folks. I guess no one ever told them that lawn people do not clean up a messy place, they need someone else hired to do that if they can't clean it themselves. Leaving bricks, cement blocks and 4x4's hidden in the lawn is asking the lawn guy to have his very expensive equipment ruined. You did them a good turn and did a good job.

What would someone pay in Northeast Florida to clean up such an overgrown yard with so much debris in the way? You did a great job. I think you should help the homeowner set the things he wants to keep in one pile and put the things he wants to haul to the dump in a separate pile. And when you finish, haul both piles to the dump. I would like to know how much time you spent from the start of the job to being completely finished and loaded all the equipment back on the trailer. It looks like someone in the family could have been there to move things that were good out of your way. I am a long time subscriber from the Low Country in South Carolina. Hi. New subscriber here by way of a shout out from Sean at @BladeMateLawnCare. I have a question. Why do you mow first, then weed-eat, especially in areas where there is a lot of debris around? I am not being critical or snarky or trying to tell you how to do your job, I'm just curious. Is it just a preference or is there reasoning behind it?
@joshuaburba1048 Жыл бұрын
Since Brad didn't respond, I'll answer on his behalf. I'm offering this answer straight from his mouth in a q&a video he made a few years back. I had also been wondering exactly the same thing, since every other guy I watch (including Sean) always edge and weed-eat first, and mow last. Brad finally answered this in that q&a video I mentioned. His reasoning was as follows: 1. When the grass is normal height or short, he always edges and weed-eats first. 2. When it is very tall (as in this video), it makes no difference which one he does first, because of how tall the grass is. Keep in mind the entire reason for normally edging and weed-eating first is to throw those clippings in the yard, then chop them up with the mower second, thereby resulting in a cleaner yard. However, according to Brad, when the grass is really tall, that won't work anyway, so it's okay to mow first. I hope that was helpful.
@momnoah5 Жыл бұрын
@@joshuaburba1048 Thank you. That makes sense, since when it is very long, they usually rake & bag the grass whereas when it is shorter, they usually just mulch it.

How do you like your 2000? I have a 60 inch 2000, a 52 inch 3000, and just picked up my new 60 inch 6000 5 days ago. I absolutely love toro. Ignore all the jackasses saying dumb shit on your videos. They obviously have never done this type of work before
@CopperCreekCuts Жыл бұрын
I really like the 2000! The throttle on it is starting to go loose which stinks, I have to keep my hand on it so it stays at the top end, otherwise it backs off the tiniest bit and makes a difference in the tall stuff. I finally popped the panel off the other day and looks like I need a whole assembly, I can't just tighten a bolt like on the Bobcat. Oh well. If that's the only thing broken in this long I am happy! Sometimes on the TALL stuff the engine gets it done but I have to go slow. Those are really the only times I wish I had a 4000. But cheaper and less fuel to run the 2000, so I think overall I would do it again. No fuel gauge is dumb but since I'm solo I don't mow enough to burn a whole tank a day, so I just refill every morning and not an issue.
@RebuildableRyan Жыл бұрын
@@CopperCreekCuts I hate the no fuel gauge on my 2000! So stupid. However In the future if you upgrade you can get the same lower hp motors on the 4000 so you can save fuel still. However I’d recommend going for the 5000 because the 5000 offers those lower hp motors as well but everything on it is just way better. Sucks to hear about the throttle I had a Ferris is2200 that did that it was so annoying. I was able to tighten it up tho. None of my toros have had this issue thankfully

There very likely are real reasons Belts blades and other mower parts are expensive and prices are rising exponentially If a person really can not afford to have their grass cut they have options
