It used to be one of my favourite Kpop GGs apart from Girl's Day, EXID and T-ara etc. I remember back in those days I rarely watched their MVs, but rather their live performances on weekly music shows, because Kpop artists are awesome live (despite using backing vocals, because of their intense choreos)

And they used to divide into sub-groups called 'AOA Black' and 'AOA Cream' and 5 member 'AOA Black' was a band that sang while playing an instrument. And originally, the seven-member AOA was called 'AOA white' to make it easier to distinguish from other subgroups. However, drummer were only active in 'AOA Black'. so add she together, the total number of member is 8. ( search 'AOA black - get out' )

Ah AOA, one of my fav K-Pop groups from 2nd Gen. Although maybe not the best choice to start with the performance video for "Confused" (not a real MV and one of my least favorite AOA songs). My favorite MVs from AOA (I bet coach would love to see all of them) would be (in release order): "Miniskirt", "Like A Cat", "Heart Attack", "Oh Boy" and "Good Luck". The titles of those should also speak for themselves.

I don't remember this one, but they did have a number of Comebacks. Sadly due to the dismissal of the Leader, the Group split. The Rapper was the Leader. I used to follow Youkyung's KZbin Channel (She performed live drumming to current new Korean and Worldwide Songs) and she left the Group in 2016. I read because she was the Drummer, she was classified as half a Member. There was a Offshoot called Aoa Black and this comprised of Youkyung, The Leader and another Group Member. They had one hit called Moya. It's a good song. I only listen online to Dreamcatcher and 3YE online now and don't follow Kpop generally anymore as I'm not keen on the new 4th Generation Groups around now. I would still follow AOA if they were still active though.

AOA is one of the groups that were up against Mamamoo and (G)I-DLE on the show Queendom in 2019. Your reacting to AOA here reminded me of something else. There are a bunch of covers that Dreamcatcher has done. One of those covers is known to be nearly heart-attack-inducing. There is a group called Brown Eyed Girls and they were from basically the same generation of K-Pop as AOA. Brown Eyed Girls Music Video 'Abracadabra' is the real heart-attack-inducer! DC covered 'Abracadabra' as one of their later Relay Dances and they did a great job of it (for being a cover). Some day, when your blood pressure is under control and you feel situated enough in your health, in order to 'warm-up' for the original 'Abracadabra', I suggest watching DC's Relay Dance Cover first. It's not quite so...'LETHAL' as the original and would be a good gauge to see if you could handle something that would raise your blood pressure even more. :)

I am certain that Dreamcatcher was in the 'Boca' era when they covered 'Abracadabra' because of their costumes and hair at the time. That means Han Dong is not there for that cover. That's the single problem I have ever had with the group but it was no fault of theirs. They had no choice but to keep going without Dongie.

I have found the further back you go into KPop the more the MVs seem to be a straightforward sexy concept, but I have dived into terribly many 2nd or 2.5 gen groups. I’m still working my way backwards in between current releases.

Hello, thank you so much for reacting to my ult kpop group. I truly recommend some bsides from them: Tears falling, With Elvis(a song for their fans since that is their fandom name) And actually their Debut song is named the same 'Elvis'. FNC (their company) where base on band groups, with drummers, guitarists (2 of them) keyboardists but they changed their concept into a sexy one after not gaining much attention. I recommended 'Get out' and 'Moya' for the band concept. And for their new journey with a mature concept i recommend their hit song 'Miniskirt' 'Shot Hair' 'Good luck' 'Heart attack'. I shouldn't be surprised this was suggested but it is the last song I expected would be your introduction to AOA (Ace Of Angels). In fact I had forgotten this even existed ...so I am thankful for the reminder. There is a whole slice of Kpop that is like this and my first expectation for an introduction would have been something like Girl's Day "Expectation" or "Something" (see what I did there ...smooth) - Personally for AOA, I would have recommended "LIke A Cat" "Heart Attack" or "Bingle Bangle" ...their song "Miniskirt" is the closest to "Confused" stylistically and I'm sure Coach will love that one too. Jimin's rap is unique and her use of "Hey" so iconic she even had a single called "Hey" Fun fact - AOA started out as a group that could play their own instruments (which they did in their debut MV "Elvis") but the company soon dropped the idea in favour of what you see in "Confused"

So this group started off with 8 members originally but 5 members left. Idk about the other 3 member reasons but I know a reason for 2 members who had a lot of drama arise in the past few years. AOA (Ace of Angels) is what it stands for btw. They are under a smaller company “FNC entertainment” which AOA was one of their most successful groups (and only girl group) along with other AOA group divisions but after AOA FNC really only debuted boy groups before AOA and until now. Right now their boy groups SF9 and P1HARMONY are the groups who have a lot of active success right now and they just debuted another boy group AMPERS&ONE. Anyways, IDK much about AOA but when I first got into kpop back in 2020 I know that was the same year one of the members “Jimin” (the past leader and main rapper of AOA) was exposed for bullying I think one of the members named Mina Kwon. Therefore, Jimin left AOA in July of 2020. However, Mina left AOA in 2019 to pursue her acting career but in 2020 exposed all she went through since her start in AOA from Jim. What really shocked kpop stans and knetz was that Mina posted proof of her trying to UNALIVE herself by posting pics of her scarred wrists due to how bad the bullying was from Jimin since she tried to se;-harm. BUT THEN, more stuff started spiraling and Mina’s stories started becoming questionable and people started calling Mina a “victim who turned into a villain that cried victim” and for me that makes absolutely NO sense but nowadays people believe that Mina has some mental health issues and projected a lot of it on Jimmy. Then, knetz feel as though western stans (international stans) always make certain situations worse because of how “woke” we are but in reality we just call out things how we see it bc sometimes Korea is a very w3ird society with how they handle things ngl. I ONLY say this because of the stories I read and how they handle them and sometimes they really will target the victims and leave alone the guilty like it can be so backwards and do not get me started on how some of the legal system charges work there. But even still some western stans sided with Jimin some with Mina. IDK… the story imo is all over the place but I do remember it all turning back on Mina. But, from my own witness of videos, Jimin is not a nice person regardless of the people who still defend her. People thought that Mina lied on Jimin because many of her stories about jimmy were “unclear” but even still Jimin has been called “the mean girl” numerous of times in the k-industry. For example, Jimin was on this show called “Unpretty Raptor” back in 2015 and she was such a narcissist in the show especially with how she low-key bragged about herself in many of her raps (mind you they were never that good) but the judges were very biased around Jimin as she was already established in AOA. But, on the show, this woman named Jessi (yall gotta get into her hopefully, she is South Korean but was born and raised in NJ/NY until her teen years and so her attitude is VERY western/ New Yorker) called Jimin out quite a few times because she just did NOT like her personality, vibe, attitude, and simply her raps were never as good as the other girls. Also, side note: Jessi is currently an active and popular rapper based in South Korea and (fluent in English of course). She has a lot of global support though and but she is one of those idols who are very “western” if that makes sense. Like how she acts is not what is typical or “expected” of Korean women nationally there (which she has confirmed numerous times and how many do not like her attitude there) meaning Jessi is very idgaf, straightforward/direct, comfortable in her sexuality as a woman, and etc. Jessi is awesome and a lot of international stans love her lol. But yea, if yall get into soloists soon one I highly recommend in Jessi. But anyways back to AOA, yea I was never interested in older kpop groups when I got into KPOP but AOA was one I really did avoid due to Jimin’s allegations. They are now active I guess as a 3 member girl group but I hear nothing about them at all. I tell you some of this kpop drama gets soooo dark real quick too. Also, you will find that some older woman k-groups groups did more “mature” concepts like this which now is not as much since the ages idols start debuting at gets YOUNGER AND YOUNGER. Overall, AOA does not make as much media buzz nowadays and the only times I hear about them is when kpop stans of AOA talk about them. I also do stan ONE of FNC’S boy groups but that is about it. A lot of stans generally don’t like FNC as a company but that is because of how many problematic idols they have had who have been in extreme scandals. For example, “The Burning Sun” (2019) entertainment and “seggs” (I cannot) say the actual word but u know what I mean) scandal which I will not state here but if you guys have time definitely look it up if you can. It’s so disturbing and involved several celebrities, including Korean idols of popular K-pop groups and even police officials. It was known as “the largest scandal to hit the K-pop industry .” Anyways, two male idols that were associated with FNC that were part of this mortifying scandal were Choi Jong Hoon of F.T. Island and Lee Jonghyun of CNBLUE. FNC denied at first but evidence came out and FNC had to admit they were wrong and both members had to serve time in prison for these disturbing crimes. It is alotttt. But yea, IDK let’s just say FNC must have some kind of bad luck or something but recently they have been drama free and all their boy groups that came after (for the most part) have been okay lol. This diatribe warrants a point-by-point rebuttal. These are half-truths and translation interpretations just accurate enough to preclude dismissing the whole rant as BS. Reads like synopsis of the gossip mongering sites that throw out half-baked narratives and move on the next scandal. However, in the interest of time and focused on AOA, I postulate that Jimin was an awesome leader that that fell on her sword in order to save what remained of AOA. Unfortunately, the gossipers had already locked in their narrative and were unwilling to reverse their conjecture.

Kind of wrong, Jimin was proven innocent in Court. Stop spreading wrong info. I don't want to hate, much of the info is real, but Jimin is not a bad person at all. If you call a person bad, and the villain just for scolding Mina because she didn't go to her vocal and practice and MV shooting that's kinda weird. They are not active at all. Just Dohwa is the single one that is still in the group and she is just posting annual greetings for the new year. Hope it helps the Coachs to get the real info because it is very rude to call someone like this without being informed.
