Courageous Soviet Secret Agent Terrified Germans in WWII | Nikolai Kuznetsov

Hugo Stiglitz - the Gestapo-hunting character from Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds (2009) - was nothing compared to this beast of a man, Soviet undercover agent Nikolai Kuznetsov, who personally assassinated at least 6 high-ranking fascists in the German-occupied territories of the Soviet Union during World War 2.

This man lived the life of a James Bond in real time. I can only imagine what will be revealed when his file is released, hopefully next year. Also interesting that the conflict with the Ukrainian Banderas were already evident so many decades before the current conflict.

A relative of mine was an Intelligence operative of the resistance in the Balkans, and was sent behind enemy lines to assassinate Wehrmacht Soldiers and officers during WWII. The Abwehr traced him down, because he wrote letters to the family members about the " heroic" death of the fallen soldier. He could never travel to Germany because he was still on the blacklist..

Interesting that at 1:28 the pictured NKVD officers are shooting their handguns one handed. Their bodies are turned to the side and their shooting hand elbows are well bent. That stance had been used in the 18th and early 19th centuries while dueling. The bent elbow was suppose to offer a little protection to the upper torso.

Don't hear many people mention him these days. Started mentally training in martial art while recovering from an injury if I recall correctly. He became a top disciple of the Grandmaster of Hwa Rang Do, a comprehensive Korean martial art. Ended up as the top military advisor to President Antonio Somoza in Nicaragua. I believe he died in a plane crash over Lake Nicaragua under questionable circumstances. Good suggestion for a video!!
