In my family, we laugh about that actual phrase...because many years ago, my husband's great-great grandmother fell and had to be put into a nursing home after surgery at age 98! She was blind and very witty and with it. The staff at the nursing home came into her room as my husband sat beside her. They wanted her to know how great the place was and how many activities she could enjoy. She wasn't interested...nor could she participate in most of it. When the gentleman (staff) was about to leave, he said a few more words since she wasn't saying anything. Finally, Nanny said, "Are you done... because I know you were paid to say that!" 😏 LOL! The gentleman was SHOCKED! He had no idea that "Nanny" was aware at age 98 of the craziness he was talking about. (Talking about all the fun she would have...oh my.) She was so cute and funny. She told me and my husband while in the hospital the day of the fall..."Nothing to do? You might as well fall!" 😉 Nanny lived much longer and passed away at 100 years and one week after, she passed away, peacefully. So yes, we always say "ARE YOU DONE?" We laugh immediately. Funny memory of how fiesty Nanny was. Hope you enjoyed my novel, lol. *GOD BLESS YOU!* Peace, Lynne 🍃💜🍃

This is an all true scenario for many split/divorced couples. When I decided to split with my Ex-Wife, we mutually agreed to terms of custody without the courts. I took my daughter on Mondays and Tuesdays, and she took her on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We alternated Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s. When my work schedule changed due to a promotion, we worked around that to where I had to drop my daughter off on my weekday nights due to an early work day. It’s called being an adult. Currently, I am sole provider for my Daughter due to issues arising with my Ex, but we decided to adjust that without any court interference. Parents need to put their BS aside for what’s best for the Children.

The defense attorney started making the hearing about her and how she's treated by some of her male counterparts or how some men swear like drunken sailors. I was taught this important fact when I was a kid that apparently she hasn't been taught: when you lose your temper and don't remain calm or poised when debating or arguing a point, you pretty much have lost the argument. Maybe that's something they didn't teach her in law school.

Maybe it should be something that is covered in law school, but it is a basic life lesson ...... so she missed class twice. I understand being angry at your ex and wanting nothing more to do with them, but to purposely and obstinately try to keep a child from seeing their own parent is so messed up I can't wrap my head around it. Unless there's some sort of abuse and/or neglect, parents on both sides should bend over backwards to make the split as easy for the child/children as possible, even if it means working around awkward schedules, biting your tongue about new partners, and speaking kindly about the other parent.
