That was so interesting to watch - first of all I had no idea how these kinds of therapy sessions worked, but what I found even more interesting is that you can clearly see how a brain processes things. Especially with the sentence you had to repeat about the box packed with jugs of detergent. You could kind of get there in a roundabout way but could not repeat the concise sentence. Man you've made such progress, and while you need more speech therapy I really commend you for coming this far in this short a time. I hope things continue to go well for you, and thank you for giving us a glimpse into your life

Because of my brain bleed, i lost function of my whole right side of my body and my speech. What I did to gain back my speech was singing to all kinds of different music both with and without lyrics. Once you feel brave enough, go onto faster speaking music like rap or hip-hop. Practice makes perfect. Ever since I started doing that, my speech has come back no problem. There are still some times where I have an off day and I can't remember certain words but doctors say that that's normal even for people that haven't had anything happen to them.

I am a teacher too (woo!) and had to go through a week-long, 4 hours per day of testing before I was diagnosed with dyslexia and the testing included some similar questions/activities as these. With that diagnosis I also found out I have very poor short-term memory. I’m glad to see I wasn’t the only one who had some fun with this. So proud of you. I was just telling my sister about how much progress you’ve made bc she was watching your makeup video with me the other day. I also bought a light to do my own nails bc of you :)

I have mild aphasia from brainstem migraines - I sometimes sit for a whole minute trying to remember what I was talking about because I get lost halfway through a sentence - watching this is eye opening for how it can be in more serious cases - you are a legend Courtney! Xx

LOVED THIS SO MUCH! Thank you for "taking us" with you. I love your sense of humor and the fact that you are taking things one step at a time and allowing yourself to be free in each moment...the hard times that you deserve to cry, the moments that you "get things wrong" and know it and can laugh at yourself...thank you so much for sharing! Looking forward to TCBY tomorrow!!! Oh and I think I'll make another batch of Your Lemon Blueberry Loaf! XOXOXOXO

Courtney! I have been following your journey for a while now and as a Speech Language Pathologist myself, this was very interesting to watch. I work with children, but want to eventually start working with adults (it's my first year as an SLP). Anyways, I think you did a great job, especially in comparison to where you started! The more you go the better it will get. Best of luck
