OMG, Petra, I remember you as one of the best reactors during Courtney's AGT run, when she was 13 and 14 years old (2018). And then you reacted to her four "Cover Sessions" tunes in 2019, which she recorded at age 14. Nice to see you back 5-years later! 💯 She's still very young, at only 20, and just starting to develop what I feel will be an incredible professional career. Courtney released her first 4 original songs (5, including her Christmas original), all as an independent artist, last year. This year, she performed at Carnegie Hall in NYC with a really cool rendition of Janis Joplin's "Piece Of My Heart" and she's now started to re-release last year's 4 originals, as live studio performances, including this one you just heard, "Call Me Back". If you'd like to hear one of her original rock performances, I suggest you listen to her "official" video for "Monsters" or her live studio performance of "Jagged". Oh, and when you start reacting to Christmas songs, she has a really fun rock original called "Christmas Rocks". Nice to see you back in Courtney's world! 🎵🔥🎸

This is the most spectacular song I have ever heard from Courtney. She pours every ounce of her heart and soul into this performance. She always does, but this is another level.

Yes she is quite unique with her emotional singing. I have just enjoyed re-watching your reaction of "someone you loved" by Courtney.

Hi Petra. So cool to see you back on a Courtney reaction. It’s been a long time. Hope all is well. You know enough about Courtney to know how amazing she is. Vocal power, control and versatility like no other. For those that may only know her as the rocker from AGT, a song like this may surprise them, but Courtney can sing almost any genre exquisitely. One of the most beautiful voices in all of music. I think this incredible song and performance gets to everyone who hears it. The song itself is so raw and powerful and Courtney sings with so much passion that this goes straight to the heart. If you don't feel the pain and anguish this song and video conveys, then you don't have a pulse. I don't know how many times I've listened and watched this so far, but even when I know what's coming, it doesn't get any easier. What Courtney can do both vocally and visually never ceases to amaze. A true generational level talent. A little catch up, since you’ve been gone so long; Courtney went through hell to start getting her original music out. First, her label, for years trying to turn her into something she didn’t want to be. Another pop princess. Can you imagine that magnificent voice you just heard being limited to just pop, but there’s more. Of course, there was Covid, which delayed her album release for more than two years. Then her label was sold, creating even more chaos. At the beginning of 2023, as soon as she could, she walked away from her label and went independent. Since she has gone independent in 2023, she has already released six mind blowing originals. Her first three originals were non-rock. They were 'Breakable', a gorgeous gritty ballad, 'That Girl Don't Live Here', an amazing uptempo jazzy number with a touch of almost 1940's Swing and 'Call Me Back' (this song), which will rip your heart out every time you hear it. The fourth release, 'Monsters', a magnificent rock anthem, was her first step back into her rock persona. Then 'Christmas Rocks', an uptempo, rocky Christmas song that simply will not allow you to stay still when listening. Most recently is ‘Jagged’, a true fabulous banger that will blow the roofs off on more than a few arenas. All are available on her KZbin channel and would make fabulous reactions. When Courtney is in control of her own destiny, amazing things happen. The recording of her debut album of originals, after all of the delays, is complete. Courtney has said that the first singles from her new album will begin dropping very early next year, with the album to follow. They decided not to start dropping the singles this year during the holidays when everyone would be focused on other things, which makes perfect sense. She also said that she has created a lot of content that she will be sharing with us on KZbin over the interim, until the first album single drops. These live versions of her originals are part of that content, and she has released two other live versions so far (Jagged, Christmas Rocks) Also, as to be expected, there are live shows and some touring being planned for after the drop of her album. As part of the prep for that, Courtney is putting together her band. So, here (and on the other recent live versions), we are seeing Courtney introduce her band for the first time. They are whom Courtney will be touring with post album drop. Lots more to come. Looking forward to seeing many more reactions from you of Courtney’s music in the near future.

Courtney puts her all into every song she does and it shows on her face. When she did that cover of "Always remember this way" she made me cry and to this day, she draws tears.

Petra, I watched this for first time ... along with you. I think Courtney is amazing at this style of song ... such an emotional voice. But if you're looking for an America's Got Talent type of performance from her, you could do worse than Christmas Rocks. She's done a Live version for this Christmas.
@jamesgilles637826 күн бұрын
Have you done "Breakable", "That Girl Don't Live Here", or "Monsters". Those are all on video and they are 100% hers. She is prepping us for her album with these live versions like "Call Me Back". I hope you look into her own work. She has returned to her liveliness with a very short but powerful pure rock song called "Jagged". Her live version of that song is best. The only song not her usual electric performance is "breakable", but it shows her voice and , again, emotion. Please check any or all of these out.

Hi, Petra. If you haven't reviewed Courtney in a few years, you've missed a lot of stuff. She's writing all her own songs now, with her producer Kevin Bowe (this is one of them). She released five original songs last year -- you can find them on her KZbin channel -- and she's about to release a whole album of new songs, then go on tour in 2025. The musicians you see here (guitar, piano) are two of the five members of her tour band.

Great to see you doing another Courtney Hadwin reaction. There are just too many of her songs and covers for me to choose from as a favourite, there are just so many good versions she has done. Her acoustic cover of What's Love Got To Do With It originally by Tina Turner she sang during a COVID lockdown is so sublime. Her cover of Adele's Rolling in the Deep, when she was about nine or ten years old was simply flawless. I know of three times she covered Sia/David Guetta's Titanium, when she was about 11 or 12 as a ballad. And there are so many other covers that she has done that are more powerful than the original, more emotional, in such ways that I consider her the true official singer, even though the original artists quite often sang the originals quite literally sang them decades before her. There are some original songs from her. About four years ago, she sang an original song for AGT Champions called Pretty Little Thing, and within a few months of that she has a working progress video still up on KZbin called "Good Old Days", pure brilliance, a song well beyond her years. Last year she became an independent artist, and released five songs... Breakable That Girl Don't Live Here Call Me Back (the song you just heard) Monsters Christmas Rocks All of these, except for the last one, have official music videos, with many of them having lyric videos, instrumental versions and other variations. You should check out these other versions, they are all awesome. About just over a month she released another original song called Jagged, you should check out that one too. Early next year she is going to release her first album of other original material, so that it does not clash with the holiday season songs. I have no idea how many songs there will be on that album, or the genres, but they will be most impressive from such a rising star that she is.

Hi Petra! Yes... I remember seeing Courtney on AGT ! She has come a long way for sure! I can't understand why the music industry doesn't recognize talent like her and her peers such as, Angelina, Danyella, Angelica and Charlotte Summers. They were all on the show and performed very well! All these young ladies are considered at the top of their generation by their fans. I do hope you will consider reacting to Charlotte one of these days.( I don't think you have reacted to her yet),. I think you will be pleasantly surprised ! Her cover of Adele's million years is insane!! 😊

In the case of Courtney, when she was under contract her label had dollar signs in front of their eyes, thinking she could be the next Taylor Swift, commanding the stage and able to write her own songs, and it blinded them to the fact that pop was not what she wanted to sing. She fought them for four years, and they finally gave up and let her go, setting her free to make HER music, as she is doing now.

Petra, you are one of my all time favorite reactors--so glad to see you reacting to Courtney! She called you back! Now 20, Courtney has been killing it for 2 years now as an independent singer/songwriter. I'm sure you will get more history in the comments, but her original album and big live shows will happen next year and will be electric! Her only big live performance so far is opening at Carnegie Hall last April for Clive Davis' tribute, singing Joplin's Piece of My Heart. I hope you react to it (get the full mashup version) and her other originals! You look like you are doing well, and I trust your daughter is, too❤

This song is absolutely fabulous unfortunately in this recording the piano is far too heavy handed and drowns out Courtney's voice, a very poor recording.
@rickrhoden123 күн бұрын
I agree the keyboard is overbalanced, but I think Courtney caught up to it and was able to shine. After Courtney got going I was no longer annoyed with the piano like at first, so I don't consider it a very poor recording. A piano tweak would improve it, however.
