Thanks for that reaction, Ginx! I was one of the lucky ones to see this performance live. The recording was a blend between one fan video, from his cell phone, and Carnegie Hall's recording. During her opening speech, it's the fan cell phone recording, for most of the song, it's the CH recording, and at the end, it's again the cell phone recording (because CH never offered the full recording or full video of her performance). The last video is of Dionne Warwick singing one of her big songs for the finale. Crazy that, to immediate side of Courtney (in the red dress) are HUGE artists from the 60's and 70's, Dionne, Mellissa Manchester, Barry Manilow and Art Garfunkel Jr. (Jr. did a duet with his dad, Art Sr. with "Bridge Over Troubled Waters").

Hi. Very cool reaction. I don't know what more to say about Courtney. IMO, she is the most dynamic artist in music today, and there isn't even a close second. Vocally, Courtney does things other artists can only dream of doing.. She is just pure talent, on so many levels, and pure energy. She's going to blow the roofs off of so many arenas before she is done. If she just focused on a single genre, she would be a superstar, but she can sing just about anything, from Rock to R&B, Funk, Soul, Ballads, and more, and do so equally as exquisitely. Her transitions are simply flawless, and her vocal power, control and versatility are unmatched. That kind of talent will one day put her in the legend category. You missed so much of what has happened with Courtney since she shot to stardom after her appearance on AGT in 2018. She went through hell to start getting her original music out. First, her label, for years trying to turn her into something she didn’t want to be. Another pop princess. Can you imagine that magnificent voice you just heard being limited to just pop, but there’s more. Of course, there was Covid, which delayed her album release for more than two years. Then her label was sold, creating even more chaos. As soon as she could, she walked away from her label and went independent at the beginning of 2023. Since then, she has released a plethora of mind blowing originals across multiple genres. Her first three originals were non-rock. They were 'Breakable', a gorgeous gritty ballad, 'That Girl Don't Live Here', an amazing uptempo jazzy number with a touch of almost 1940's Swing and 'Call Me Back', which will rip your heart out every time you hear it. The fourth release, 'Monsters', a magnificent rock anthem, was her first step back into her rock persona. The next was 'Christmas Rocks', an uptempo, rocky Christmas song that simply will not allow you to stay still when listening and just four days ago, 'Jagged;, an absolute rock banger. All are available on her YT channel. Can't wait to hear you react to them all. In this performance, the New York Pops honored Clive Davis with a huge concert at Carnegie Hall for his 92nd birthday. Everyone who is anyone in music was there. Courtney was invited personally by Clive to open the show. She blew off the roof and the doors and brought the entire audience to their feet at Carnegie in a standing ovation with this rip roaring, stage dominating rendition of Janis Joplin's 'Piece of my Heart'. Janis was Clive's first signee. It was unbelievable. Courtney shared the stage with many all time greats tied to Clive like Barry Manilow, Dionne Warwick, John Mellencamp, Busta Rhymes, Art Garfunkel, Melissa Manchester and many more. If you watch the conductor, rather than Courtney (which is hard when she just nailed the song), the conductor sneaks several long peaks at Courtney's performance instead of remaining focused on his musicians. The look on his face says it all. The same can be said for the guitarist. Let's be real. If you were on stage, 15 feet away from this magnificent performance, how could you not help but sneak a peak. It's not very often that you get to hear the voice of a lifetime.

Courtney released a new song on 4th October 2024, called Jagged. It is an upbeat song and personally, one of the best songs around today. I don't know why it isn't in the billboard list. Actually, all of her original songs deserve to and should be in the billboard listings.

You picked out everything I love about this video and obviously had a blast yourself😃 Courtney dropped Jagged on Friday and the official video should be out soon, but there is a lyric video and a "visualizer" made up of the official audio and a short clip from her album shoot, looped and shook up for fun🙃🥳🥸🤪😎🤣

You did really well guessing some of the details of this spliced video. I didn't know you were a recording engineer. A few things you should probably know about the original videos. The phone video was shot by Edward in a balcony just above where Clive Davis was sitting and a few other dignitary's. A few of us got to go see her at Carnegie. Carnegie frowns on taking pics and videos so this was brave of Ed to do. The other professional video, I'm pretty sure was from the back row on the orchestra level. I saw about 10 video guys back where you 1st walk into the theatre. They definitely had professional gear back there. Supposedly Carnegie wasn't going to release any videos when at least one fan, Rick, who called in to inquire about that and also if they would post anything to their pay for view cable app. Anyway Ed's video is a complete performance video. Whereas the pro video was maybe half of it. So whoever did the video you reacted to blended them together. Don't know if any permissions were granted, but this was the end result. I'm a bit of a home recording enthusiast who used to spend a lot of time doing it, so I could really get into the details your started going into. I don't know how the professional version got the sound piped in, but being there I can say it wasn't from an outside mic from their video cameras, as the hall reverb was very obvious there. I wondered about that dry sound too. I just guessed it was a direct line to their equipment. I didn't see any mixing station in the back where all the camera guys were though. Must have been something there and they did the mix post editing for their Instagram page, which is where the shortened pro video originally showed up along with being on Courtney's channel too. The audience absolutely loved Courtney. I'd bet there were just a few that knew who she was before she got on stage, but right from the get go, you could tell they appreciated her humbleness while she introduce the start of the show thanking Clive. In Edwards video (which is on FB "Courtney Hadwin Super Fans" page if you wanted to join and see the complete video), you get to see and hear more of the audiences overwhelming appreciation and applause during and after Courtney's time on stage. You would have thought it was her concert IMO. I don't think I heard a louder applause for all the other greats there. But I may have just wanted to see Courtney so bad and was biased at the time. 😁

Thank you! Unfortunately, apparently due to problems getting rights holders to agree, NY Pops was unable to put out a DVD of this show. After many fan requests they did give Ms. Courtney Hadwin a partial clip of her own performance, which was where they got the better audio. A fan mashed up that clip which Ms. Courtney posted on her KZbin channel with fan video from three fans sitting together up in right-hand balcony. That was only wau to let all the rest of us see and hear as best we could her whole performance. Loved it! So glad they could do this so I and others who couldn't be there still got to see our superstar-in-the-making on a big stage again! It's been a LONG time! Silly music industry. If you haven't already, go see her January 2019 performance on season 1 of AGT Champions! That was last time on stage, at 14yo. 5 weeks after Carnegie Hall performance, she turned 20yo. Proving once again that the most skilled kids by age 19 win. Going into your twenties with a decade of experience behind you. Thanks Gina [and your anonymous donor] for making this reaction!

I was so happy for Courtney when she got this gig, what a truly great honor. Maybe it helps make up for the Woodstock gig that folded. I would have loved to been there when as he got the call from Clive. Courtney: hello, Clive Davis, yeah right who is this really?

I totally agree, Miley would not have been able to cut it. To do with the audio, maybe you should get in contact with the person who runs the Courtney Hadwin Journey youtube page, because that person is the one who compiled this edit together?

STRONGLY recommend the later posted Official Lyric Video for JAGGED! Those of us with older, slower ears can't keep up with how fast she can spit syllables! Help us old folks out? Thanks! JAGGED is a little piece of hard rock candy Ms. Courtney gave her fans as we all wait for her finished debut album to be released. Good potential future commercial value of this short FAST and furious track.
