Great to see you're hooked Neal. I recall when this 1st came out, and I was listening to the 1st half of this performance, I was actually bummed because it was a contemporary ballad. I was hoping for more old school rock style from her. But then when she started to wail out loud, I immediately changed my tune and realized this was her way of showing everyone she was more than the rock star she showed us on AGT earlier. I had listened to all her younger stuff singing ballads, which I really loved listening to her raw power as young child. But I was hoping for more rock from her at that point after watching all her Voice Kids UK and AGT performances. But once I got to the point where she was wailing in this song, that was when I realize Courtney is perfect for this generation of fans. She can give them what they are used to and more once she shows off how old school she can be too. And fans today get to see how much fun she is to watch sing that way. There's a lot to choose from Courtney's library of performances. No matter which one you choose it will be a hit. I noticed Oscar Picon mentioned Tina Turner's "Nutbush City Limits" cover by Courtney which was how she 1st got noticed by AGT from The Voice Kids UK. I concur. That's also one of favorites because at 12 years old she completely owns the stage with her moves and her singing is rocking the house in this one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4bKnJhjit6XjtE But any other performance is just as well too for the next one. Hope my assumption of your continued reactions of her is on track. She's so worth it. I'm not sure, but I just realized it's been about 3 years now since most of us were introduced to Courtney on AGT this coming month in May and we fans are still getting treated to plenty of reactions videos of her. Wonder if that is true for many others from back then. Or maybe I just don't follow them and don't see it?

Yep, Courtney takes it to the limit then goes above and beyond ... This song was done more than perfectly.

Hi Neal. Welcome back to Courtney. Well, up to this point, you've only heard uptempo Courtney and that part of Courtney's music is absolutely spectacular. Now here, welcome to a completely different side of Courtney's music and it is equally as spectacular. Her beautiful ballad voice. It doesn't get any better than this. I've mentioned before how versatile Courtney's voice and music is and this is the perfect example. And still there is more to come. Courtney can sing just about anything and do it more beautifully than anyone else. Although Courtney will likely always be first and foremost a rocker at heart, she is equally incredible across so many genres besides Rock including R&B, Funk, Soul and Ballads, among others. She can seamlessly transition across genres, sometimes in the same song, without any loss to the amazing quality of her music. Courtney's voice is like a multi-faceted diamond shining in the sun with each facet equally as brilliant as all the others. I will remind you that Courtney was only 14 when she recorded this. The voice of a lifetime. Without a doubt. This cover was part of a four song session that Courtney did. You have reacted to two of them. I've put links to the remaining two below. One is pure Funk and the other is a gritty ballad: Courtney Hadwin - 'Sucker': kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3eYZJqhjpV9n68 Courtney Hadwin - 'Someone You Loved': kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4OchquZqM-Iia8

Great reaction Neal ; You are just beginning to pull back the curtain on one of the most dynamic young singers in the world today. Courtney's incredible tone and vocal range allows her to tackle songs that a lot of other singers would not even attempt. I look forward to your reaction to her cover of the song Love Hurts.

Hi Neal, Glad to see you back for your fourth reaction to Courtney in less than three weeks if I’m correct. I loved seeing you get in the groove of the more ballad-type intro to this song, only to be blown away by Courtney changing things up. One of the things you can count on from Courtney is to expect the unexpected! I almost envy you just starting out on your journey of Courtney but that means I would have missed out on the last 2 1/2 years of enjoyment! Will be waiting for your next!

Courtney is so versatile with her voice she can do practically anything. She even did an opera Tiktok and pretty much nailed it. I am really glad Courtney did this album. AGT was her real beginning, and that run really put her in the "rock box" of music. She rocked it for all four performances and never really showed us her true potential. With this entire 4 song album, she opened up my eyes to a much wider variety of potential Courtney music. One thing I feel she has over most of the other young talent from the talent shows and many pros is the emotion she puts into a song. This song highlights it. She knew exactly when and how to project each line of the song, and I felt it big time. Like yourself and most of her fans, I do not see Courtney as a small time artist for her career. Despite the fact she really pulls in the older crowd who love the 60's and 70's music, her raw powerful voice and her mesmerizing stage presence just seems to have her destined for big things.

Neal you just gained another subscriber. I so glad you have found Courtney. She's probably the hardest working artist out there today, and she has even released her album yet. She practices her vocal technics everyday, not just a few minutes either and while she's running in place. She does the running to make herself winded so she can maintain her breath control. Courtney is all about perfection, she'll be the first to tell you a song she did wasn't good, and has many times. Fans will tell her that it was good, and she'll replay " guys that wasn't good ". I've heard a lot of people say that she'll damage her vocal cords by the way she sings, she has one of the best vocal coaches there is working with her. She uses vocal technics that no other artist can never come close to what she can do. Courtney has took all the greatest artist, Tina Turner, Etta James, James Brown, Little Richard, and the list goes on, and put them in one voice, the Courtney Hadwin voice. Courtney once said that she wanted people to hear her and know who it was, well she's accomplished that and then some at only the age of sixteen. All the other guys ( witch a lot of them are more like family by being fans of Courtney's for so long ) have given you a lot of history on Courtney, so I decided to give you a little history in the most amazing vocals of any artist out there. Glad to have you on board for the Courtney Hadwin journey. Like all the other millions of Courtney fans I can't wait for your next reaction to her, keep them coming.

she's not going to damage her vocals, because she's not straining to achieve the voice she belting out. It's natural so her voice will last a long time. I've seen her do opera practices and it was nuts she's got the vocals that are like no others... you could tell if she was staining, because you get that crackle or break up, and her voice doesn't do that. And i've been in the music for a long time and those people saying that are or don't know about vocals. Another thing is that she only belts out when the song demands it, not a constant high belting like say "Heavy Metal" or Shock Rock where musicians are straining their vocals to achieve those sounds. Courtney doesn't do that... So, her voice is natural and unique like Linda Perry of the 4 Non Blondes.

GREAT reaction, DTN!!!! Again, remember she recorded these a couple of years ago when she was only 14. She is now 16. I believe you've reacted to 2 of 4 of her "Cover Sessions" album on Spotify, Apple Music, etc.: "SIGN OF THE TIMES" and "OLD TOWN ROAD". Would you react to the last two tunes: "SUCKER" and "SOMEONE YOU LOVED"? THANK YOU!!! 🙏

I seen a video recent, not too recent but Howie asked Courtney who her favorite singer of all time was, and she said she liked Little Richard. I was shocked and so was he, because like he explained to her why he was shocked; i felt the same way. How many girls her age listen to those legends? You could go around the world today and ask any teen who these people are and they'd be like who? James Brown? the funny thing is a video or live stream video she was singing Bobby Mcgee, but it was when she was signing out that blew me away, because she started singing "tootie frootie" by Little Richard like w/o any radio music or anything, she just started singing it and it was unreal! just for that 3 seconds before it turned off, I was like what! Born in the wrong Era, or someone who died back then has some unfinished business, because her talent is unreal, and like the saying goes, Rock and Roll will Never Die. And for most of us, it sure felt like it did and this young lady comes along and sings the "old original" Rock R&B with some 70's Funk naturally it's like what? So, refreshing, like going back in time and being there again getting into the soul. She knows it too... she can sing,,, she just at the young age she was didn't quite understand why people didn't like her. She's figuring it out. Certain little tidbits of what she says and how she laughs while she singing, she figuring it out...
