I do not mean to be disrespectful to you, but I think you think too much about hearing her signature so that you miss the feeling. This song is really emotional if you relax and listen to the voice and lyrics. It gives me goosebumps. I appreciate you being honest with your thoughts and of course, it's individual and that's just my thought and opinion. Love from Sweden

I respectfully disagree with you regarding emotion. In this song she absolutely brings an emotion to this song that exceeds the original. Actually she brings emotion to every one of her performances. I think you're just not opening up to her. You are captivated by her presence, but in your case I think you might be distracted by it. Take all of her performance in.

Lewis Capaldi is the original singer's name. There's a gentlemen who went to one of his concerts and had the opportunity to meet and talk with Lewis before the show I believe. May have been after. But either way he was able to have Lewis see Courtney's performance of his song on his cell phone. I'm very happy to tell that Lewis was very impressed with Courtney Hadwin. I hope Lawrence sees this reaction and tells his story again of meeting Mr Capaldi and letting him see this video. For someone like him to be that impressed says it all about how passionate Courtney is. As I said in another reply, Courtney never mails in a performance when she serious. She gives it 1000%

Hi HAP. Glad to see you back with another Courtney reaction. I must say, I was quite surprised by your question. I think the question needs to be asked the other way around. Can you find a song where Courtney doesn't draw you in emotionally when she sings. At least personally, Courtney connects emotionally with her listener when she sings better than any other artist, living or dead, that I've ever heard in my lifetime. It is one of her signature traits and one of the things that makes Courtney so mesmerizing when she sings and performs. I know music is subjective, and so comparisons aren't valid, but I've heard many others who have heard this performance and say that, after this, they never want to hear the original again, adding that this rendition is so many levels greater than the Lewis Capaldi original. I will never say I have a favorite Courtney song because, each one is so special and unique that they can't be compared, but I will say that I think this song shows more of Courtney's vocal range and versatility then just about any other of her performances. You get to hear the beautiful ballad voice, the gorgeous falsetto and then the wonderful Courtney grit all in one. Her transitions between musical styles are flawless and exquisite. One of Courtney's fans played this version for Lewis Capaldi, the songs originator, and he could not say enough about how amazing both Courtney's voice and this version of the song was. As always, she took this massive hit song, 'Courterized' it and, in most of our views, turned it into something that completely blew the original out of the water.

@@roarkarlsen1584 : @Mary Glover Hmmm, I believe this is a Courtney Hadwin reaction? I find it funny yet sad at the same time that some have the need to slap a back ended compliment to a reaction or an artists performance by introducing another artist who happens to be their favorite. Something just don't sit right with that form of flattery. I wonder how it would go over on Angelina's videos? Probably not a fan favorite thing to do, I willing to bet.

If this song didn’t make you feel the emotion, as it most certainly did me, try “Sign of the Times” a Harry Styles cover. It’s mesmerizing, not the Harry Styles one, Courtney’s. Harry’s pales in comparison. Actually there are numerous songs of Courtney’s that draw me in and sometimes brings me to tears. Courtney doesn’t just sing a song, she feels the song and is very emotive. Thanks for the great reaction Hap.

I'm 1000% with Sherry on this one and I do mean one thousand % along with all of her performances. They are all out passionate every moment of every note. The girl never ever mails it in. But I do appreciate you for finding a minute to react to her again. I can understand it's your thoughts that your not seeing what many of us do see, after all we all think differently. But I'm glad I'm in the majority when I say she brings us in emotionally to just about anything she sings seriously. She does mess around at times but this was not that time. Even the musicians felt her pain. Yet she's still only 14 years old here. I'm sure she will have even more passion as she lets' us hear her own songs she wrote soon enough. But to be able to sing with so much heart and soul doing covers is way beyond what I would have expected from any singer, let along a 14 year old.

Thanks for this reaction, Hap, but I'm a bit perplexed--if being captivating (excellent description, btw) and pulling you in are not manifestations of strong heartstring emotions, I don't know what is! This song is about the despair of a jilted lover and Courtney envelops the listener in that feeling like nobody's business. Perhaps you are looking for another song presenting a different emotional theme. Those themes can be happiness, sadness, anger, disappointment, revenge, sensuality, tenderness, love, on and on. I find no one currently any better than Courtney passionately evoking whatever emotion a particular song brings. Again, I am not sure what else you are looking for, but I do believe in to each his/her own preference. Here is a link to Courtney at only 11 years old with a classic love song; perhaps it will resonate with you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bl6VnZ-AoJVnq5o

Hi! Thank you for another grand reaction to Courtney. I am rather perplexed, though. Surely anger and frustration, both evident in her performance, are indicative of emotion. Courtney isn't into the "weepy, weepy, crying my eyes out" emotion. She tells it as it is. The guy has jilted hier and she is very, very angry and is determined to let him know that this is how she feels. Well, that's how I see it, anyway. Courtney was the first singer I heard performing this song, and then I listened to Lewis Capaldi, then Angelina Jordan, and recently Daneliya Tuleshova. It was interesting to see how each of them treated the subject. Courtney with anger and frustration. Angelina with sad regret. Daneliya was a disappointment and, for me, her performance came across as "this is just another song". As the songwriter, Lewis obviously would challenge that his rendition was how the song should be sung. Courtney had the advantage of a venue devoted to the performance and two excellent musicians accompanying her. Angelina was disadvantaged by having to complete with a sand artist and a violinist. I would love to see her cover the song in future under better conditions. To bring these comments to a close. I have to accept that the interpretations by Angelina and Courtney are so very different that I cannot give preference to either. Just keep doing reactions to Angelina and Courtney, and I'll be a very happy geriatric :-)

Courtney will be one of the all time greats. Just remember that she was 14 years old when she did this cover. Don't expect her to have all the emotional chops for a song like this. After all, one of the lyrics, "This all or nothing way of loving got me sleeping without you" isn't something someone of her age would even begin to understand (at least I hope not.)

Oh! Hap! I am willinging to go right out on a limb with this song - of which Courtney has given us but a short teaser - because one day perhaps soon perhaps not - & then for ALL TIME after "Let It Be" will have us in raptures 🙏🥰🔥🔥👍 I am still agog! Never had I ever imagined anyone having the sheer audacity to even take it on much less own it. But I can say without shadow of a doubt that for me this is her's based on one soitary minute on a loop. Sublime, her rendition is surely the best tribute to any Beatles classic - it will be for her own generstion, every bit what it was for mine (64). I am aghast! Agog, and utterly flabberghasted! Dumbfounded & speechless! SHE DRAWS YOU IN! Yes she does! She can put the Beatles back at the TOP, I am sure of it. The Question is will she do it while a Beatle (or two) still lives? I could see from your facial expression that you lost yourself for momentarily. Even when you know it's coming it amazes every time 👍🔥🔥🔥🤘😷 "I Feel The Earth Move Under My Feet* "Sweet Child of Mine" are another 2 'shorts' that are a perfect match. But please Hap at 10yrs singing Whitney's "I Have Nothing" - Etta James "At Last" & "All I Could do Was Cry" at 11 or 12! And as cute as a button at 12 singing Jackson 5's "Who's Loving You?". And if you can get through her Voice UK Kids final "I'm Telling You" without being drawn in then you might want to check yourself in to a cardiac health clinic, lol I sooo look fwd to your reactions Hap! It's easy to see that you see what we do 🤔👌❤

That performance at that age is one of my favorites. Yet rarely does it get the attention it deserves. Some had said the UK fans didn't like her animation or facial expressions during that one, along with the mic stand going down, and that may be why she didn't get the votes by them to win. (Btw, that was more like a slam to the ground, not so much a drop, lol.) But I like how she was so animated and passionate. That year was the beginning of a lot more to come in her new style of our rock queen.
