Hi HAP. Another great Courtney reaction. I don't know about you but, I've never seen anyone control a stage the way Courtney does, even at 14 (when this was recorded). She had that crowd in the palm of her hand. Just imagine what a 90 minute concert of this would be like. It would be totally insane as the audience and Courtney each feed off of each other's energy and just take it to higher and higher levels. If this song wasn't release ready, I don't know what is. Courtney did say in a live that the plan was to release this but, that some thought it was too poppy. I think whoever thought that was completely insane, because this song was about as far away from poppy as you can get. What a true powerhouse Courtney is. From vocals, to stage dominance, audience control, song writer, she has it all like no body we've seen in music for decades. Just an aside to the introduction to the Champions performance. AGT was completely dishonest in how they portrayed Courtney getting voted off in their introductory clip. They showed her crying and upset when the announcement was made that she wasn't going through to the final five. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you look at the clip, what Courtney was wearing when she was crying was from the semi-finals (Born to be Wild), when she went through to the finals. In all the performances I've seen from Courtney, the only time I've ever see her cry on stage is when something good has happened and she is happy (mostly because she always prepares herself for the worst and when the good happens, it is such a shock). She has never been anything but gracious and calm in defeat, always with best wishes for the winner and such was the case here as well. AGT did Courtney a huge disservice in how they portrayed things. It is a true Masterpiece and many consider it to be one of Courtney's most amazing pieces of work. In a recent live session on Tik Tok Courtney said she is looking to get a few ' gigs ' near London possibly. Under another name to get back into performing, which she said she has not done for a couple years. Lots of recording, but nothing live. Her performance in Austria was cancelled due again to Covid. She intended to get her album out this year ( 2021 ) Covid willing. So we wait.

I watched that live Dave, but I didn't hear anything about "Under another name". Did she talk about this somewhere else too. Like in the comments section of TikTok or Instagram. It's possible she mention it in that live I watched and missed it. Sometimes I can't understand some words with her accent or my lack of her accent. I don't get why she would want to go under another name. Maybe to test the waters to people who never heard of her. But that seems strange.

Hap I must tell you how much I have enjoyed your reactions to Courtney. Since your first one Happy Xmas I've been a subscriber, in fact I just finished watching every reaction to Courtney you've done from the first to the last again. I've really enjoyed this past week of Courtney reactions, I can also tell you I'm not alone. There's many many more fans out there that has enjoyed them just as much as I have. You can tell that she's an artist that is going places. She's worked harder than most people to make a dream come true. There's not a day that she doesn't practice her vocals, she does so by running in place while honing her vocal abilities. That's the reason her breath control is so amazing. That's one of the first things I noticed about her the time I saw her, at age 12. Music is in her soul and body, Courtney is music. There's so many videos of her from a very young age till now, her younger videos are just as amazing. You can see even at a young age that she understood music, and how she progressed in her vocals as she got older. It's unbelievable to see how she preformed than with the same passion as she has today. During the lockdown she didn't stop, she continued to work and hone her abilities to become even more amazing as an artist. She also to the time to learn to play the guitar, to improve her song writing ability, which is unbelievable for someone her age. She's given us fans a few examples of her song writing ability and it's like she's been doing it for decades. On AGT you wouldn't believe how many people there came to see Courtney perform. When AGT went to Vegas Courtney was there to. The winner was the headliner, but I can tell you for a fact that more people went to see Courtney than anyone else in the show. People even traveled across the ocean just to see Courtney. During the Vegas shows I read an article that made the statement, as big as Vegas is, Vegas wasn't ready for Courtney Hadwin. I believe that statement is more true today than it was back then. During all this time between practicing, learning guitar, song writing, recording, photo shoots, and meetings with her label Courtney has always taken the time to interact with her fans. Doing lives to talk and sing something, doing TikTok, Instagram and Facebook post. Then she'll take the time to answer just about every comment from her fans on each social media network. That the way she shows her appreciation she has for her fans. I believe in the near future they will unleash Courtney's new music too the world. That's going to be a moment in the history of music no one will forget. Then her live concerts will start and that's going to be a site to see and I plan on being there. There's a couple of songs that you have to react to, that's Sign Of The Times and Love Hurts. Sign Of The Times is the last one of the cover sessions you haven't reacted to. Love Hurts is something she recorded and played to us fans on a live one day. It was played from her computer, broadcast from her cell phone, and recorded by a cell phone. Well, Hap, you obviously understand what a standout performer Courtney is so I am subscribed to see more reactions to her. It is hard to find the appropriate words to describe Courtney because there is no one else like her. I'm glad you got your playlist out because I can tell you have not reacted to Sign Of The Times which is a Harry Styles cover. It is the last one you haven't done on her VEVO channel. It's the best example of her version of a modern slow ballad on a small stage, professionally recorded. It's on the same site where you got Sucker (still she was only 14 there). Many thought Courtney deserved a golden buzzer on this performance. It was Heidi's turn and she have it to a danger act. In this same set Darcie Lynn and Christina Ramos bother performed. Ramos did Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen / Freddie Mercury and got the majority super fan vote. Ramos is a very popular opera singer from spain. Darcie does the singing puppets and had won AGT a couple years before. So competition was tough.

There has been much debate on what ' original ' ment here. Much later Courtney verified a rumor that she had worked on this song with The Famous producer and song writer Max Martin. However others have Said ' its all Courtney ' so who did what on this dong is still up in the air. The original plan was to release it after Champions but Courtney commented it was too ' pop-y' and she would do other original music. I hope its on her album which has been delayed by recording studio closures due to Covid.

Courtney wrote the music and the lyrics. What she had help with was orchestrating it for the band so they could play it, because that's not something she knew how to do.

here's the thing even when she was younger. Her ability to do what she's doing isn't natural in comparison to other young artist of now and past. They just never had the ability to perform and sing uniquly and with maturity of a seasoned solo artist. Most of them "Scale sing" is what we call it in the biz. You stand up there singing a song jumping from one scale to another and reaching certain notes, but nothing captivating or Awe dropping, because so many already have that capability. Courtney is beyond that, 14 when she performed Champions. You can tell she really wanted to win and of course you want to win. She did lose my friend to Shim Lin the magician. Whatever... When she starts she is so captivating you cannot take your eyes off her for one second. You are so drawn in to her and even her dancing, you just get sucked into her performance you feel you are a part of her and with her. You don't get that w/other performers. It's rare and a phenom, because many times the camera people never take the camera off her when she performs not even panning on the judges. It's unexplainable, you cannot explain it. I feel in some ways it's just her simple look and style of clothes. They even digitized the floor to the carpets she had when she did "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag." Same color and same design. She even asked them to put the crowd up front to show people, ya you don't think I'm ready? Well, you think i don't belong here? Well, look at this that no other contestant has done, to put a crowd up front and then high five everyone w/o losing one breath. She knew she wasn't going to win, but wanted the exposure and she was really happy just to be on stage, since this is her lifetime dream. So, for her it was a very good thing...

I've seen most of Courtney's performances that are available on YT, and this is by far my favourite (imho, she derserved to win) Her talent is next level and only surpassed by her humility. Could you imagine a colaboration with Angelina Jordan?!? Something like "With a little help from my freinds" in the style of Joe Cocker, or anything from Ray Charles, or something original.

Champions was just like normal AGT in that it's manipulated... shin lim..worthy winner i guess but this show had courtney.. angelina Jordan that sand artist... was all filler...thats one of the things i detest about talent shows... its not real..
