Then when my mom died, he was remarried 8 weeks later! (My mom died of breast cancer and we knew her death was inevitable.) He was a weird one, though. The type who just could NOT be alone.

It’s hard for me to write off everything she’s said. NOBODY REALLY KNOWS WHAT GOES ON IN A RELATIONSHIP. You might know that person a certain way really well but that doesn’t mean they treat their partner the same way. I know first hand. My ex was a saint in a wheelchair. Everyone thought he was the best boyfriend but he was actually abusive in every way you can think of. You don’t know. He could of been doing stuff to her. They need to to us on the real evidence tho. I hope they find the evidence. I don’t see why she’d make all this stuff up. I don’t get it. Her mother might of been manipulating her? Seems like they were very close and she felt like her daughter was being taken away. The Doug has a lot of money… there’s so many angles here.

What a horrible thing to do, to get with another lady so soon after his wife’s death (especially one who was barely older than his own daughter), he should been more considerate to his daughter , the poor girl had just lost her mother and hadn’t even had time to grieve 😢

He lost his mind probably from trauma of losing his wife. Very short courtship and secretive wedding are 2 HUGE red flags that this wasn’t a healthy relationship. My mom was remarried 3 months after my dad passed away. I was 12, and had 3 sisters all close in age. It felt like the biggest betrayal ever! I can relate to Eva in that way. It feels awful!

I read Ashley was cheating on Doug while telling him they were getting back together. The child is most likely not Doug's but the man she was having an affair with. Also Ashley's mother paid for that vasectomy reversal since Ashley had no money. The money came from an inheritance from Ashleys grandparents.

@@jmgood2870 Thanks for the info.. For sake of argument, Let's say Doug had a vasectomy 10 years prior to the reversal, he would have had a 30 % chance of fathering a child. Not great odds. I think for Eva knowing paternity information would be very important.

I lost my mom in 2008, I was 28 years old, she was one month away from her 50th bday. I lost my brother in 2018, he had just turned 41 I was 38 then lost my granny in 2019 and my dad in 2021. I'm now 43 year old going on 44 and man is it ever so lonely. I couldn't imagine losing who I have as a teen because it's been so difficult at the ages I was when I lost my family members. She's a strong girl. It's so sad hearing her have to talk about it

UPDATE...The trial is Oct 16, 2023. A DNA test needs to take place as the child may be Ashleys ex boyfriend, D.Beaty, not Doug's, that she was engaged to, while telling Doug they were starting fresh in Bowie, Maryland.

No! The first wife's death was coroner ruled as death by a heart condition. Ashley most likely found his wife Rene's obituary and decided to seduce Doug for his money. Thats what both Ashley and her mother Alicia do...conniving plotting scamming widowers for $$$$

It sounds like Ashley wanted someone to fund her ballet company, and she desperately wanted a child, took advantage of a grieving widower and once she got what she wanted she wanted out of the relationship. She probably didn’t think that Doug would fight, and fight fiercely, for custody of their child together and for the judge to not believe her allegations against Doug, so she had to get rid of him. All speculation, but this is what is seems to me.
