So far, this judge has gone well out of her way to PREVENT a mistrial. All the explanations and bending over backwards to let him defend himself is because she knows the jury is going to hang him out and she is making a dang good record for the appellate court so she won't have to do this again!

Jackson Sparks, 8; Virginia Sorenson, 79; LeAnna Owens, 71; Tamara Durand, 52; Jane Kulich, 52; and Wilhelm Hospel, 82. These are the lives lost from this brutal attack. Many many more were injured and affected.

Seems like the judge is the defense attorney as she continues asking the questions when the defendant cannot ask in the correct form. How is this ok? Why doesn’t she make him go on, which is what would happen in a “normal” court proceedings. If he feels he is schooled enough, he should get the same treatment as any other defense attorney. No special treatment. His ignorance should not factor in.

They’re always really careful with Pro-se defendants. They want the conviction to stick. No wiggle room for an appeal.

@@vancoronavirus9566 to a point that's true. Many times in higher charges for the worse criminal acts the judge will decide the defendant is not capable of properly defending himself. Smaller charges like a drug charge or a misdemeanor where you are facing a year or less in jail they will usually allow you to represent yourself if you are competent to do so
