The Big Push is a band of equals. Each member is amazing in their own right. I love all versions of TBP. Their originals are fantastic. I love, love, love Icarus and the BTS Icarus (must watch together). You get to see Golden Boy Ren.

The reason why he sounds so good live: Most singers can only sing and understand little about musical post-production and sound engineering, so the recording is handed to a producer to clean up and tidy. The problem is, producers aren’t live performers so they only focus on detailing the sound engineering and post-production to be as polished as possible. What you end up hearing on the recorded versions of songs are therefore artificial and fake because it’s over-produced, so when the live raw performance is done, it doesn’t sound the same. Ren is a producer and sound engineer himself. He’s also a live performer - street performances are a big part of his art. So what he makes sure is to not over produce the material in post production, meaning it’s as close to live as possible. What that means is that as a performer you cannot afford to be lazy and rely on post-production to tidy it up for you, so the initial performance has to be on point to begin with.

So, minor correction... he mixes it.. there's multiple mics, and he sets levels, eq's, etc. He's meticulous in that. That said, there are no EDITS. And thats where you see the raw talent.

Danke, Ihr "Schnitten" (the german word for the probable double meaning of slice girls) - that you have explain, that The Big Push was a band and not Ren with background actors. A lot of reactors and most of the commentators make this fault. This "narrative" is in my opinion beside the question "Why Are Bands Mysteriously Disappearing?"(interrogated in the so named video at the channel of Rick Beato), one of the reasons, why a reunion of The Big Push never take place. The respect to the other band members lacks at most of them - not astonishing in this age of solo artists and - at the utmost - duets.
