That cover 4 palms special help me win a crazy ace slot offset user. I went to palms when he played it regular, but when he motioned a receiver to the other side of the formation I played special and manned up the motioned receiver and middle third my safety. Completely bagged the formation. I always slide my dline to the strength of the formation

Another thing you could do on the slt crosser from trips is cross man your quarter flat from the weak side so he can carry it with inside leverage until the deep zone can pick it up.

Thanks man. I tend to avoid base align because the seam and flat defenders are taken out of position and can be easily leveraged to the sideline. Plus, this coverage adds a few little beneficial match assignments to improve the coverage against certain crossers and corners

When you ran the crosser with Kelce out of doubles he got picked up but your safety on the third seemed to grt glitched out by it and the post got open on the back of your coverage. But this is great to mix in with the Tampa 3 and stock Palms. Gonna be fun to run it

Good catch. Yeah at the end of the day, you'll still have Cover 3 beaters. Can use outside halves if you want to be safe

There's a blog called "Cripes! Get back to fundamentals" that does a great job going over Cover 7. It sure is a wonderful "do everything" defense that is essentially "man-to-man match quarters; 4-on-3 strongside / 3-on-2 weakside. At its most basic application, it is just a standard quarters defense. Each side will match according to the split of the formation and game plan. Because it can be adjusted in so many ways, the consistent 2-high shell can give a myriad of looks but remain constant before the snap." Hope that excerpt brings a bit of intrigue to satisfy that Nick Saban itch. ;)

Ok so found some blitzes vs 3x1....they're called solid...another way to play the single side instead of cloud, sky, MEG,MOD.....you want to use quarters for these first 3 blitzes when sending 5, if u want to send 6, use palms....just know you have to user the 3 rec for these first 3 blitzes to guard the # 3 reciever when using quarters...the last blitz will be for palms and 4 lock......ok so the first 3 are called solid smoke, solid cowboy and solid backer....not my names 🤷‍♂️...SOLID SMOKE...first show blitz....just like quarters(solo) man up the cb to the weak side....man up the LB on the weak side to the RB...blitz the down safety , crash your DL to the strong side..SOLID COWBOY ....you can show blitz with this play but make sure the weak side safety does not come down so move him a little bit before you do show blitz...this is good when the single reciever is to the boundary...Blitz the cb to the single reciever side, Man up the weak side safety on the solo reciever, next man up the weak side LB on the RB and then crash your DL to the strong side...If u want to send the weak side LB along with the CB , use palms but just know the RB will have nobody guarding him towards the boundary...SOLID BACKER....show blitz....Man the down safety to the RB....next Man up the CB on the single reciever side ....Then Blitz the LB on the weak side to one of the open gaps... If u want to send six just blitz both LB's and keep the weak side safety in his zone and user him and watch anything coming across the field or to the flats....if you do blitz both LB's use palms....SPECIAL SOLID SMOKE....use palms or 4 lock....1st show blitz....then Man the #1 cb to the #1 reciever on the trips side, then Man up the cb on the # 1 reciever to the single side..next man up the LB on the RB on the single reciever side....Then Blitz your Down safety, and crash your line to the strong side...You can blitz the weak side LB as well to send 6 but the RB will not be covered....You Dont have to use all of these blitzes...but its a good mix to go along with quarters, and palms.....You're basically playing palms or quarters to the trips side and cover 0 to the single reciever side

@@drefosho123 play straight quarters, cover 3, cover 6, cover 9, even cover 2...I play the cover 2 side to the boundary...also use 2 deep, 4 under blitzes....basically cover 2 blitzes...Or use cover 1 blitzes, or zero blitzes....you could play cover 1 or 2 man under...depends on your personnel and what your opponent is doing...or what your opponent struggles against...just see which works best for you during that particular game

I’ve been running Big Nickel Over G a ton in my Franchise. I’ve been running that Cover 3 match variation that you put out some time ago, which seems very similar to this one. I’ve had a ton of success with it. My outside CBs are on hard flats and my slot safeties go over the top. I’m heading to the playoffs and I know my opponent throws a lot of deep passes. My Corners are the strength of my team, would you consider putting my corners in the safety position to cover the deep part of the field and have my safeties cover the hard flats ?

My safeties have got the job done up to this point but they’re relatively low rated (Upper 70s). And I know this guy have a ton of speed with Marquise Brown, my safeties don’t have a lot of speed.

I don't tend to stress ratings. Keep speed on the field and you should be okay. If your safeties are really slow then I would consider keeping them in the flat, yeah

Yeah Over G is still pretty good against the run. I would reset and go back to Cover 4 for the better run support. Can move the Nickel back into the box to create a 4-3 look

I love big nickel, I usually pinch the line and crash them in and get great pressure normally. You can even drop a DT into coverage and itll help glitch out the line once in a while. It also drops him back a little which even tho it doesnt seem to make sense but also helps the run bc he backs off the line at the snap. If it's a pass he can also help in the middle so you can be a little more free with your user mlb if that's who you user

thefranchiseRK big nickel g quarters matches corner route well and contain so he can’t roll out. There’s also a cover 2 blitz w the corner slot safety. If you make him a third, corner next to him on cloud. The SS into middle third. The FS on a Deep half and soft squat weak side corner. Lurk w linebacker. I also use this to bring pressure. Same play but now blitz all LBs and bring in the safety corner do a contain and press to bring in LBs to gaps. If you want to bluff just go to LB adjustment and hit LT (clear shift) pits then back in zones w out moving them. Sorry I know that was long lol

The box is too light and you’re setting your defense up to be mauled with the run game. A real offensive football mind 🏈🧠 would expose you running inside zone and trap while having RPO pass tags on all the run plays. In the pass game they Would utilize quick passes to the flats while utilizing the RB in the pass game with verticals. Then follow up with 4 verticals. While running the offense in hurry up no huddle tempo to neutralize your ability to make adjustments. These created defense 🤦‍♂️ make me laugh.
