Looks good but you lose functional access to electrical, plumbing, and other items a regular drop ceiling gives you. I am more function than appear so not for me.

Sure, but with proper planning of cutouts and routing you probably won't need to modify for many years

But the horrible sponge like commercial drop ceiling tiles are worse. I can only imagine the smell and mold that builds up from using those things in residential areas.
