GREAT JOB! after watching this, i speed up home and went straight to my shelves looking at my marvel ladies like Carter in the Heaven on Earth brothel scene and found Eternals Sprite. She has the best barbell ball joint that fits both Cover Girl and Mavel Legends. BOOOM! Now my Cover Girl has one of the Avengers Black Widows Beyond Earth's Mightiest head (She comes with 3) I will be doing this again. Placed an order for 2 more Cover girls. I will be doing what you did to fix that arm issue. Great work! New Subscriber. Looking forward for more.

Sharon Carter is in the MCU, she's the great-niece of Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers' first love interest. She works for SHIELD and became Cap's new love interest in the movies. She was also "The Broker" in the Falcon and The Winter Soldier series and most importantly she's played by fellow Canuck Emily VanCamp. Her comic head works well on a G.I. Joe figure but her MCU one would have the same issue as movie Black Widow. I don't mind the figure that much, a lot of the women in the line are um... homely? That's a nice way of saying it right? 😂

I was thinking this too. The best part about the vintage card-back black widow was the head. When I heard the words I thought that one. (Foot note: I think the afore mentioned BW looked more like Jean Grey; the BW that actually looks Russian came with the motorcycle.) P.S. now that I've looked into it, I'm almost absolutely sure whoever told you was referring to the Grey Suit Black Widow! She has the same hair style as the cartoon, just about.

I want to recommend Vallejo brand paint when you try acrilic paint. You will really like their Grime wash paint. I use it for mine and it really brings out that dirty look. You can also use it to stain to a darker green on grey bodies. For example the original release Stalker.
@vimfuego2000
@vimfuego2000 2 ай бұрын
As someone who's custom-painted a few Nerf blasters, the best way to get paint to stick to plastic is as simple as washing it thoroughly in soapy water. Plastic toys still have mold release agent residue, sweat and other oils that will get between the plastic and the paint. If there are super smooth surfaces, a light sanding with an old, used scotch pad before you wash will help too. Leave it in a warm space overnight to dry, or dry it with paper towels or a lint-free cloth, but be careful not to handle it too much and get more sweat on it. gloves ftw

It looked good, but they had a Brie (butt ugly) Larson head on it and...just yuck. But now I need to get her hands fixed and paint her to look more like she's supposed to. Love this! My Covergirl has had 2 makeovers already. This one inspires me. The best paints I've used for action figures is Monuments' ProAcryl. So awesome. And then I use Mr. Smooth matte clearcoat in super thin layers at first. It has a tendency to make colors darken slightly if put on too heavy at first. Thanks again for sharing your Covergirl recipe. Best one I've seen.

I like your channel quite a bit, good stuff. I neglected to get a cover girl figure, just wasn’t that interested, but I may pick one up now (I do love modding figures). I wish I had known beforehand you planned to use enamel, I’d have definitely warned you away from it, only ever use acrylic on figures, it’s better than anything else. Also, well done on the dull coat, I almost always use a matte finish on all my figures (I mean, who wears shiny clothes irl?), I mean, for as cartoony as some of these figures can look at times, we’re all shooting for realism for the most part.

You might want to add that if you find it on a good deal but it's just an aside option to share with you that I noticed. Want a Wolverine? Are you familiar with ramentoy ? They have a green 3 optioned vehicle (mobat, bridge layer, and wolverine, mobat is base. buy the other parts separately to have 3 options in one or buy 3 mobat chasises:)) that is a great base if not just the absolute actual vehicle! Vallejo metal colour and metallic primers are the way to go. I love using the plate mail metal surface primer when I want metallic silver that isn't too shiny, especially on tools, armour, and weapons that need to paint that stands up to a lot of friction.

This looks great. I kind of want to try this, but my customizing skills pretty much start and end with body swaps, anything more intensive and I end up with a pile of trash. If you want a Wolverine for her though and willing to shell out the cash, Ramen Toys has the answer for you.

Personally, I would've used the Emma Frost Astonishing X-Men collectible for the head, and just paint her lips red (or a more flesh tone color) instead. I think you did a good job on the painting of the figure though - even if acrylics weren't the best choice.
