Well they actually stopped a lot of people, I think the criticism has been they haven't played a good offense all year, And what would happen when they actually played a very good offense. Ohio State was not a good offense and the Big ten didn't have a lot of good offenses. You can only play who's on your schedule, so I don't think people who had a question about their defense and how good it really was is someone hating on Michigan. It's a valid question, and they showed they were pretty good tonight, But I don't blame anybody for wondering how they would do against a better offense than they've seen all year.

Yep. Michigan’s defensive scheme was installed in 2021 to stop Stroud, JSN, Olave, Ebuka, Harrison Jr., Fleming, and Garrett Wilson. The only things that changed is Minter took over for McDonald and refined it, and the personnel is different. Penix and Washington are good. They deserve respect and will not be easy by any means, but even though OSU this year wasn’t what they were in 2021 and 2022 offensively, Michigan’s defense was built specifically for a high octane passing offense.

Penix is a Beast and the perfect QB to run that offense. Texas CB were who we’ve know they were for most of the season. Difference is where other teams would cave under Texas pressure (offense & Def) Washington’s offense and Defense was relentless and never stopped pushing the aggression. Texas played above expectation this year and have nothing to hang their head on. 10 penalties, 14+ min less time of possession, inopportune turnovers and yet it STILL came down to 4 shots to end it. Great job Huskies. Best team one this one 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾

Right and you can tell by how everyone else tried to down play Michigan win until Danny stepped in and said Michigan was just better...then Bud agreed. Bud's 2 year endless hate for JJ is crazy. I mean if you tell Bama has 2 1st round pick corners 2 first round pick pass rushers 2 safeties that will both be drafted by end of round 2 Then 17-27 221 3-0 with a game-tying + game-winning drive are pretty good But Bud thinks JJ was terrible. Michigans game plan/path to victory is the OSU 2021 game. OSU had stroud, Olave, Wilson, and JSN, 3 NFL 1st round receivers, and the NFL QB rookie of the year. It is almost an identical offense. UM used their offense to dominate the game, took 5-7 mins or more off the clock every time they get the ball, and kept stroud and crew off the field. This years clock changes will make this even more effective. On defense, they will take away the big play and make Wash go the length of the field 5 yds at a time. This will be a 8-10 possession game, tops for each team. The real question is can Wash stop UM from doing this?

First of all, the guy in the hat with a T on it clearly doesn't know football and didn't watch very closely. JJ's" horrible pass"on the 75-yard drive to tie it was tipped by an Alabama linebacker. The reason they were having snapping trouble is because number 73 and number 55 were lined up over the center. That's by far and away two of the best defensive lineman in the country. Millroe blew two snaps on his own. Oh btw , The last play was designed for Millroe to run right up the middle. I'm tired of hearing how close it was to breaking. Not even .They had the entire front locked down. There was no pass play involved. And the snap was just fine .Our defense is significantly better than bama's defense on all fronts. We literally strapped their passing game to next to nothing. Michigan's receiving core and quarterback performed significantly better than Alabama's. The reason Alabama lost is none of your excuses but because Michigan's defense dominated them as did Michigan's offensive line in the passing game. Alabama was out matched in every phase of the game except for special teams. It's pretty clear T hat guy was thoroughly disappointed that Michigan embarrassed Alabama. Stop making excuses on why? Alabama lost. They lost because they played a better team.

I had Odunze on my ballot because he showed up every game. Even against Arizona with a collapsed lung he had 5 catches for 64 yards. That was his "worst" game. @@tomfornelli8417 Thank you for the reply, but just for the record, the rib injury and punctured lung happened during the onside kick recovery at the end of the Arizona game, so Odunze didn't play that game with the injury. But I take your point that it makes what he did against Oregon 2 weeks later truly legendary. I love the love for Rome, but you had to know leaving Penix completely off your ballot would be akin to giving an extra vote to Daniels, since Odunze wasn't going to finish Top 4, let alone Top 2. I guess it's like someone voting Jill Stein or Jo Jorgensen for office. It's not about disagreeing with the majority, it's about understanding who is actually in the race.

That's just slightly above a Cristobal level of end-game competence. I do not know DeBoer that well, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict Harbaugh will not be out-coached next week.

Idk which coaching staff will do a better job but ask any coach in the country and i bet they tell you they run for the first down and don’t kneel until they can run out the clock. The players in the running for these prestigious awards would also more likely play in their bowl game showing loyalty to the team instead of having a me-first attitude. If Michigan runs and runs and runs like they did against Penn State, they will wear down UW’s defense. UW does not have the depth along the defensive line to keep guys fresh. I do think that Washington is so different than any team that Michigan has faced and this year there’s only one week rather than 8, 9 or ten days, etc. There isn’t as much time for Michigan to get familiar with all the shifts and movement that Washington does, IMO. Boy the analysis was not good for the Natty. Really, 'W will outscore AL'. 13 drives - 13 pts. And that O-line - Pennix was battered by the end of the game even though only one sack. I looked at W's defensive stats and they were horrible. And Oregon and Texas were not physical teams - wrong. And we did know what to expect. You in the moustache - M's defense was incredible 1 through 11. They proved it all year and you guys in the national media never gave them enough credit. And Donovan Edwards did show up (I did not predict that).

Not just a first time champ in the CFP era but also now since the BCS/CFP era since Michigan last won in '97 and Washington in '91. Regarding Michigan's run game, I'm not gonna underestimate Corum and their OL but like the last Oregon game, I think UDub can focus on the box to take away the run game in order to make Michigan/JJ play from behind and forget the run. Washington couldn't focus on the run as much vs Texas because they also had a trio of WRs + their TE which are deadly. The Wolverines have Roman Wilson who is good but he's not nearly as good as some of the other WRs that Washington has faced this season.

Congratulations to Michigan on the win, they deserved it, but I think y'all are a little too happy that Alabama lost. I didn't think Michigan was in control and the better team. They had a better first half and Alabama had a better second half, looked like two pretty even teams to me. Michigan made the plays at the end when they had to but you guys were talking like Michigan dominated the whole game. It'll be good to get some new teams in the final, So it's not like I'm salty Michigan won, I don't care. But I didn't see A game where Michigan was in control most of the game. I thought Alabama and Michigan split control of the game evenly. Michigan just made the plays when they had to at the very end.

Michigan was the better team for most of the game, although their special teams made them look worse. Also, people are so used to seeing Bama win once they get the lead in the 2nd half that's its shocking that they lost. Bama didn't have a typical Bama defensive game. Only one sack wow. People are happy to see Bama lose, and the SEC lost due to the media and CFP committee SEC bias. It's the perfect way to end the 4 team playoff with no SEC team in the championship. It shows parity in the sport and makes it not so regional.

Yeah i dont know what game they watched lol. As soon as Alabama went up 17-13, Michigan felt completely out of it. I think they got like 3 first downs from halftime to the final drive in the 4th. Right that’s what’s making me upset, people keep thinking just bc Penix through for 400 on texas he can against Michigan. If you’ve even seen one texas game there secondary has been TRASH they can’t defend. The people who picked Texas to win are insane. Michigan just played a bama team that dominated Georgia, that has had an elite defense all year, and a mobile QB in Jalen milroe. They sacked him six times, the number of pressures he was under this game might be in the triple digits💀, and they were able to run and pass the ball effectively. It may not be the long passes like Penix through but the reason he was able to do that was bc Texas doesn’t have a pass rush he had time, he’s not going to have that against this Michigan d line and there secondary is leagues ahead of texas’s. If you watched both games you saw one game where both teams had an elite level defense and it showed all game but texas and Washington? The question should be can Washington keep up bc there defense isn’t anywhere close to bama’s so nobody thinks Michigan couldn’t move the ball effectively against washington but they did Alabama who’s way more of a challenge defensively than Washington is. It’s not going to be a Washington blow out win, if there was a team to get blown out it would be the huskies. If you thinking Michigan isn’t getting 4plus sacks in that next game then idk what to tell you.
