#jimmy page is never "sloppy". Jimmy plays his guitar, reflecting the way he is feeling at the time, and no 2 times are the same. And in this case, one can tell jimmy does not want to be there, the reason jimmy holds up the song, intentionally, intermittently--jimmy does not want you associated with Black Dog as the subject matter is highly sensitive, and it is bobby's song. David C., you should be thankful that jimmy was going to allow you to sing, Out On The Tiles, but the soundboard over rode it--- David C., once and for all, you are not bobby (Robert Plant). But, I can tell you don't want to hear it, yet it is true. Just because you end up stealing bobby's soul, that does not make you him. jimmy feels the same and How Many More Times does jimmy have to reiterate that to you?.----

Plant lost his high pitch voice at 25 , David at 60. In 93, in his 40's, David was amazing.

I wouldn't say he lost it. He was still a fantastic singer. He started singing with a lower pitch sometimes, but yet he could still hit the pitches when he wanted to, and his style was unmatched. His voice reached the peak in 1972, But he was also hitting high notes in 1973. I wouldn't say he lost it, but he did singer with a lower pitch.

I really have a problem with David Coverdale (or David Coverversion as Percy has christened him). The problem is bourn mainly from my loyalty to Plant and Zep. I do listened to Led Zep,DP,Whitesnake's albums since i was a teenager. They kinda raise me up,i guess.. lol. Robert Plant is one of my fav vocalist ever,n followed by Brad Delp, Ian Gillan..etc... I'm not gonna compare who's the best or whatever..Of course each n everyone of them has their own styles. I don't see DC trying to copy RP here..and the vocal is not even the same but both has their own strength n uniqueness when it comes to vocals range n stage persona..if ure a truly a Led Zep fan u surely can differentiate that.. this is DC doing his version of Black Dog and it's awesome..it doesn't sound as perfect like the time with Bonzo n Jonesy back in the day with Led Zep but still, this sounded great in it's own way n i love it ! So why don't we just sit back,relax n appreciate the music..

The truth is that at this time, David Coverdale is able to hit the higher notes and sound more like Robert than Robert could. David's voice has just lasted a lot longer than Robert's. Both are very similar in sound and David would have been a perfect replacement had Led Zeppelin decided to perform with Jason on drums but without Robert on vocals all through the 90's and 2000's.

Ah, that time when Jimmy Page ran off with David Coverdale and left Robert Plant all broken hearted and lonely, lonely, lonely. Truth be told, Coverdale & Page could have had 20 yrs running as The New Led Zeppelin or Zeppelin 2 . Not only could David do justice to most of the Zeppelin catalogue, he actually brought a new mature sound. All they needed was to find a really good drummer and maybe get Jones on board too and they could have got the thing off the ground again with brand new tracks and albums. Instead, Robert probably felt a real threat to his legacy and was forced out of retirement. If your a true Zep fan you will notice that Coverdale is taking the piss out of Plant and ‘ baiting ‘ him.

Actually, let me rephrase that last part. I love Plant's & Coverdale's vocal contributions to Rock & Roll, (Coverdale did nail this tune though, no doubt) but when it comes to listening to the original recordings by each singer respectively, if given the choice, I prefer hearing Plant doing Zeppelin, R. Plant etcetera, and Coverdale doing Whitesnake, Coverdale Page, and his original tracks with Deep Purple etc. Just my opinion, but I'm sure the original artists prefer that respect as well. :)

An interviewer warned his readers about asking DC about his influences, saying that you need to be prepared to listen to a really long list. DC loves all styles, and his enthusiasm is infectious. I like the album he did with Page more than The Firm's albums. The last three songs on it reach Zep levels of intensity. I wish they had stayed together longer.
