The Man Who Sold The World is probably descended from Robert A. Heinlein’s “The Man Who Sold The World”, a short story or novella.

Hey, Quiet Riot did a remake of another Slade/Noddy Holder song, “Mama, We’re All Crazee Now”, much to their displeasure. They were big hits for Quiet Riot, but the band didn’t like that. There were other British bands that copied Black American bands, as well. Jimmy Sommerville did that for one song, for example.

@@BackingTrackCenter sure thing, at the time when Pat Benatar covered that song I didn't know it wasn't hers. I found out years later, normally stuff like that doesn't get by me but that time it sure did.

@@BackingTrackCenter I have two more if you wanna use them, Ian Hunter/Great White Once bitten twice shy. This next one is good, The sensational Alex Harvey band/Britney Fox. "Midnight Moses" I had no idea Midnight Moses wasn't a Britny Fox song back when I bought the album, however their version is killer. Check it out if you don't know it.
