What I love about Rogues is how there are at least 3 or 4 really different decks you can run. All have same core of Enforce, Thought-Thief, and Drown, but there's a lot of variation beyond that. The Lurrus variant is very fun. A card like Acquisitions Expert is actually decent in that deck, and Vantress Gargoyle is your beater.

Nighthawk Scavenger‘s my favourite new card from ZRN. It‘s so solid and it‘ll also see play in Mono B decks, I am assuming. If a new set has a another rogue to bounce rogues for retriggers that is a lower casting cost that will be so awesome. Maybe a kicker that is just to return a rogue to your hand and if you do opponent must bounce a non-land permanent of choice or something mild like that.

43:14 you missed the opportunity to sac the 1 mana merfolk to draw a card and have it in your graveyard for Agadeem's Awakening.
@benbuman88324 жыл бұрын
Deck idea: you use the enchantment "solemnity" from amonkhet which prevents any type of counters from going onto permanents. You combine this enchantment with luminous broodmoth and kroxa. Since the luminous broodmoth cant put flying counters on the kroxa, it keeps respawning and its ETB keeps triggering until the opponent's hand is gone. Then after that, it does three damage every EBT and then you win

Final point, cling to dust is excellent in rogues for the mirror and exiling titans.
@DatHarlequinOni4 жыл бұрын
Zerith San is always good. If you have an unblocked 1/1 you can pay four mana to turn it into a 4/4. Even if you don't trigger his ability that's much more damage and it's difficult to interact with to boot.
@thisismatticus4 жыл бұрын
In the last game, countering Terror of the Peaks and then playing Brazen Borrower could have set you up to bring Zareth in to get Terror out of their graveyard and then had Petty Theft up to bounce any threats they could have on their next turn (if they blocked one of the Enforcers). It would also have saved 3 life, though that wasn't really relevant at that point. Also, them having Ruin Crab and Terror of the Peaks in the same deck seems kind of awkward. Enjoyed the video and watching this deck work.

As a long time dimir player who loves the whole rogue flavor, I'm super bummed out that they made rogues such a cooky-cutter build. All the cards just fit together way to easily, I much preferred Dimir flash befor, where you had to really put some work in deck building and piloting to make it work. Countering enemies key cards, holding spells, playing completely different game plans in every match-up. Now you just spam all the rogues, go for the beat down, easily having answers with drown in the Loch with all the free milling, playing like a monored player and it will probably work out fine. Same with historic rogues, it just seems so stuffed now, that it lost alot of its creativity and skill aspects. Winning is alot easier now so I guess the mythic grind won't be too bad, but I really prefer making underdog decks work in the meta than beeing the meta.
@elerai14964 жыл бұрын
Oh really? Trust me, when you go up against the cancer that is Uro, you'll be rethinking your life decisions. No, I'm not talking about lotus cobra Omnath Uro, I'm talking about the various control Uros like Sultai Jace/Sea-Gate Stormcaller Control (for example). You stand no chance against those in Bo1, and extremely slim chance in Bo3. Literally the only reason this has to play in a hyper-aggressive style, ditch all value and control cards (like Call/Lurrus in that game) is because you just can't outvalue Uro, you can only race them with borrower. Gargoyle also had to be cut, because it makes this deck even more vulnerable to Uro than it already is.

That's an interesting pick. I don't like Thirst because of the Sorcery speed. I was playing Eliminate but late game it would sometimes be a dead card in my hand. The only issue I have with Erebos is that you loose the planeswalker destroy option from Thirst or Eliminate. Edit: I've given some thought on Erebos and I think you're right about it's inclusion in the deck. I had a match against a deck that was running Skyclave Shades and it out valued me in every was. It was big enough to kill most of the creatures in the deck and just kept swinging every turn and landfalling back to the field. Erebos can take care of stuff like Uro of any regenerating creature that may hit the graveyard through the milling.
