Minor pro-tip with Thought-Stalker Warlock: if opponent only has one card in hand, it’s better to play it BEFORE dealing them any damage, because they’ll be forced to discard that card even if it’s a land, while if Warlock comes in after the opponent lost life, the “Thoughtseize” mode on it can’t force them to discard land

We got Marco Pitruzzella to play drums and all the tracks are 300 bpm+ :) I'm looking forward to sharing it. I used your pre-release lizard deck to climb to mythic very quickly. Loved it, but the meta has definitely changed. I can't wait to get home and try this updated one, my biggest problem is still exile crowd control like sunfall and temporary lock down. The only way I've been playing against it is slow rolling creatures to draw out spells without completely wiping my hand.

I'm not fond of aggro decks, I particularly despise the mono-red aggro decks, but at least this Lizard deck is an aggro deck that you have to think and outplay opponents to win.

Lizards got me to diamond with a 70%+ win rate. I run Rotcaller and Flamecaller instead of Performer and Thought-Stalker, it's a very aggro build. Lizards have not been as good in diamond, not going first very often and finding that most opponents have easy answers. Watching the video, it seems like your deck is set up more for mid-range than aggro, and I guess maybe that's the change I need to make as well, to get through diamond.

39:50 Really should have played the lizard before Show-Off, because Gev adds a +1/+1 counter to ANY creature and not just lizards. You still won that match, but that difference would have killed the Emberheart Challenger you blocked later on rather than leaving it at 1.

I tried an Ob Nix version and I think it's just trying to be too cute. It sort of makes you want to play more like a midrange so you can maximize his triggers, but the LIzards are just too quick and low-to-the-ground for it. I think picking one over the other is best instead of trying to do both.

Currently playing Lizard in both bo1 and bo3, and suffering in bo1 a lot. It needs a flexible way to deal with enchantment for the white control and golgari, and quick and cheap interactions for the monoR. Very hard to balance...

Surprised to not see the Squirrel that drains the opponent based on the number of other Lizards and Squirrels in play. I've won games with that card by itself because it lets you outrace other aggro thanks to the lifegain and get in damage around a stalled board. I'd try to trim some of those playsets to 3 to squeeze in 3 or 4 of said Squirrel. EDIT: Actually, if you're married to your list, I'd just remove the Disguise Lizard and replace it with the Squirrel as it fills a similar role.

got back into mtga since 2019 cause of this video. after getting diamond with lots of changes to the deck, i got a lot of questions. why run any card costing more than 3 like the virtues cause your gameplan should be to discard lands after reaching 4 mana with the flamecache geckos (yes i see the adventure part, but those are way worse shock / go for the throat effects); why run 4 restless vents when you only ever afford to make one of them a minion in a turn and the tapped mana is hell for tempo clogging up your turns 1-3; running pyrotechnic performer as a 4 mana deal 3 to face when you can have more shocks and go for the throats against those pump my rabbit decks. overall, i feel as though CGB put a random control deck twist to what should be an uber aggro deck. also mtga economy is still trash lol, where's my disenchant.

I've tried but it just usually ends up being too cute. As a one-of, you almost never see it before the opponent is already about to die or it shows up too late to claw your way back into position. If you add more copies so it shows up "on time" more often, it encourages you to sequence your plays slightly differently to get the most out of him and just slows you down before he eats removal.
