Wouldn't matter a thing if it was ranked. You can get to mythic in standard by insta-conceding against every monored/boros deck because of the way the hidden mmr works. People would just insta-scoop their way to mythic in brawl if ranked was a thing.

Hey CGB, I remember you talking about how you're getting tired of standard arena about a year ago and how its affecting you, and you've kept up creating content tailored for the subset of standard fanatics out here. As someone who's only peripherally following mtg I really hope you can find a good balance that works for you. Burnout is a real thing and I wish that you can do all the things you love without having to worry about solely what your amassed audience gets what they think they want. For example I really enjoyed your recent stream with your fellow content creators playing lodckdown protocol. You seem like a genuine person who loves creating entertainment and I think I can speak for some of us in saying that we will keep watching you no matter where life takes you. All the best.

Stumbled upon Meowodic's stream as she was playing a similar list as Mythic #1 (she plays Best-of-3, though). Salvager came in clutch quite often, so I'm not so sure about cutting it.

I'd play brawl if the buy in wasn't so expensive. I mostly just use it to dump the daily "Cast X colored spells"

Magic in general is expensive, i prefer brawl for an online format and it's actually a better bang for your buck rather than buying sets of 4

@@asihiphop You still have to buy/collect 100 cards vs 60. The 4x of a card isn't really relevant with no variation in prices and the total cards needed is what matters. Brawl is overall more expensive to get in to.

In addition, it is less of a hit to sub out 1 rare for a slightly worse uncommon/common than a full playset, and that last point is especially true for lands which end up eating a lot of rare wildcards for 60 card constructed.

Brawl would be better if it had competent matchmaking, its not like they don't have every card, interaction, and deck stat mapped and available, and its not like there isn't an ai, that could be trained on the data so they can match players against each other that are balanced and make sense given what their specific deck is trying to do. Instead, we get blocks of 3 to 5 players in generalized themes, and 70% of the time, its a mismatch one way or another, resulting in turn 1 scoops because the people coding matchmaking either dont play the game, or are lazy/incompetent.

I think focusing on Brawl would be both more interesting to watch and also make you considerably less miserable. Standard in Arena seems incredibly un fun, with very repetitive decks, misleading or roping tactics. Just all around not fun and I'd certainly love Brawl's more creative decklists.

Only problem I have with brawl is it's not ranked and people always scoop so fast. First time something doesn't go their way, cya. That is more un-fun than stomping mono red 20 times a day

Problem with brawl is everyone wants to concede the second things go slightly wrong for them. So it would likely take a while for CGB to get any decent games.

Honestly you're exactly like a best friend I used to have,, except everything you say and do isn't crazy problematic even when you push channel boundaries by saying something explicit. Sometimes you say something that is reprehensible here n there, sure, but it's something silly like raw salt or something about someone else that I wouldn't consider unforgivable. I'm a huge fan but it scrapes me more and more towards a paid member channel tbh, and even though you might not have meant it, you have a very good 18+ following and I hope you listen to/pay special attention to that.
