@Bodmerocity A lot of recent math rock is like this, more melodic and less noisy and post-hardcore influenced. However I think it's simply an odd evolution and it's come to a place where it sounds like the folk guitarists, not necessarily actually influenced by them. I don't think it's unlikely that many people who play mostly twinkly math rock have never heard of these folk guitarists, I know I certainly haven't. Although I don't know about the bigger artists that actually caused the shift to the "twinkly" style, so I don't think I can claim anything with certainty.

If I have a bad day, I just watch the drummer play and I'm instantly feeling better. My goal in life is to be as happy as the drummer.
@kdub_5 жыл бұрын
What really helps with that goal is to make at least one stranger smile everyday. It's as easy as asking someone "How are you" with a warm welcoming smile. Trust me it's an amazing feeling when they respond with such a bright smile. Not everyone will have that reaction though. Some people may not be in the best mood and might ignore you. They could be in a bad mood. Maybe they'll think about it later and smile. Others might be really shy and have social anxiety, but they still might appreciate it deep down inside them. Just keep your chin up and try your hardest to wear a smile on your face. With enough practice you'll be spreading happiness to everyone around you.

As long as kids are still picking up guitars, new great music will always emerge. Even if its not so easy to get the cigar chomping suits at the record labels to pick it up (But I think it was always like that. Frank Zappa reckoned the reason so much experimental music came out in the late 60s was because the label executives where so confused by modern music, they'd sign anyone who had long hair and looked vaguely bohemian. And some of it was even good. The last time that really happened again was the early 90s when the sift away from the mainstream was so sudden the labels freaked out and signed anyone that looked vaguelly like they brought their clothes at a charity op-shop. And some of it was even good.) Moral of the story, great music rarely becomes chart topping because the record labels suddenly got good take. Its always an accident of confusion.

Yes it makes the music better knowing that playing it brings them such joy. In other words I think you can hear them smiling even without seeing their faces. Its beautiful and regardless of what the drummer might have um...?partaken in, you can tell that they are doing what they were meant to do in life.

Unpretentious and Original is how I would describe this music. What is really cool is how the also talented drummer clearly appears to be a big fan of the groove and Yvette's incremental and highly melodic talents. Her use of the capo, unusual tuning and her ear, born from a classical background in Piano and Violin lend well to the eclectic musical journey she takes her fans on. The sound is huge- would never guess it was only a trio. The rest of the band sounds great too but she is really something special.

I love every single piece by Covet but there's something about this one that I love the most. It is so chill and so happy sounding that even though I've been listening to it for three months straight now, I haven't even gotten remotely tired of it yet. This is still my go-to song for a happy mood every single day ❤❤❤

Dude this is so good. I can explain it, but they’re just pure and honest with their music. They’re not making it pretentious, or seem like they’re trying too hard to be “free-spirited”. They’re just rockin out. They also keep everything so simple while simultaneously having so many layers. They’ve also got inconceivable chemistry with one another. So sick man, and this is the first song I’ve heard from this band

This song really shows far far Yvette has come as a songwriter. She was always good but she's on another level now. I think the sections where the music is less hectic and has more space adds a lot to the band's sound, def digging that direction.
