Can I ask if soaking in Alum would work to dissolve the screws (and any other left over steel) or is there something steel you wan to keep? Just asking because I have done it to removed a dial screw for an otherwise stripped main plate

Kalle, a slot mill has two flutes and can both plunge cut and side cut. An end mill has several flutes and should only cut on the diameter and not plunge cut. You showed an end mill. If that is what was used and it worked, then 👍 But ideally a slot mill should be used. Although I have to admit that in my tool making past, I never used such a small cutter.
